2024 China Open - where are the elite Chinese pros?

Because it is a ridiculous premise to strut around calling yourself a pro when they can't beat an average amateur male.
How's the view from that high horse? I guess you are used to it, you're pretty much permanently perched on one.

Yeah
And I'm specifically not talking about them am I?
Which is exactly my point.
You did say that you beat every self professed female pro that you ever met. That covers a lot of territory. You're selecting one small group of women players and forgeting to give credit to the many great women players that are out there now. That strikes me as a bit unfair to the women pros, considering there are so many of them today who can compete with the top men. I wonder if you ever met Jeanette Lee. She's a New York player that always liked to gamble a bit, like twenty thousand dollar sets! She would have probably played you. Just saying.

Nobody disagrees that some misrepresent their level of aptitude as a player (it's probably a bigger issue in men's pool than in women's pool, but I'm not sure it matters), but you have suggested that this is the problem with women's pool and you've done absolutely nothing to explain why you feel this way.

So, I will ask again. Why is this a problem? How, in any way, does the presence of those that misrepresent their level of skill impact our sport?

Ever female pro I every played = 6 or so and most weren't even close sets.

Yes, it is time to stand up and applaud the level of excellence of the two best woman players today and, in my opinion, they are two of the four best ever women pool players.

Siming Chen tends to get more press than Han Yu, mostly because she once mixed it up with Shane and survived. In fact, Siming Chen, in my opinion, is the women's game's most talented player, but greatness is measured in titles, and...

Han Yu has to be the most underrated woman pool player of all time. For most of her career, the three hardest events to win in women's pool have surely been the WPA World 9-ball, the China Open, and the All Japan.

Han Yu (32 years old) now has three WPA World 9-ball titles, four China Open titles, and two All-Japan titles, despite taking a couple of years off for maternity.

By comparison, Siming Chen (30 years old) has two World 9-ball titles, two China Open titles, and two All Japan titles.

There's no need to say who is the better of these two proven superstars, but they are putting together the kind of competitive resumes that only Jean Balukas and Allison Fisher have enjoyed to this point in women's pro pool history.

For those that don't watch women's pro pool, you might want to reconsider for, led by these two mega-stars, the top women are putting on a display of truly exceptional pool that might just shock you.

Yes the top few women over past 10+ years have been really impressive and enjoyable to watch. Liu Shasha (W9B-3 wins, China Open-1 win, 3x runner up) is back after long break to start family but still struggling to get back to form. Of the 3, Han Yu has best mental game in big pressure matches never lost W9B or CO final won all 3W9B and 4CO. On other hand, Chen Siming has been in most finals but only won 1 out of 4W9B finals and 3 out of 5 CO finals

So with this China Open win Filler has made $115K winning 2 WPA big events just in this month.
The 2nd biggest event this year is the WPA Qatar World Cup 10 ball in Dec. Prize fund about $0.5Million. 1st prize should be around $100K to $130K.
Filler is on way to win up to quarter million from 3 WPA events. So in hindsight, should he have “unboycotted” WPA events? Absolutely. Thing is those who were bashing him would have done exactly same thing if they were in his position. :ROFLMAO:
In first place, in their statement the players should have just protested WPA but removed the sentence to boycott WPA events.
How long can the 10+ players who boycotted continue to boycott WPA events? If I am not mistaken, WPA events close to $1.5M to $2M prize fund per year and WNT around $2.5M to $3M.

Why can't we all get along! In the long run that would be the best possible outcome for our sport. Nothing wrong with more than one pro tour. It works in other sports!

Just like to point out the total prize money above (WPA + WNT) would not equal the purse in one PGA Tour golf tournament. Just saying

Great, you're a lady killer! Congrats. In my day I played Robin Bell a few times and Mary Kenniston once or twice. I was glad if I could win a match against either one. I also played a few women hustlers and did well with them. I never asked one of them to play. They asked me. Jeannie Balukas was way out of my league! She was beating up on the men champions forty years ago!

I'll take anyone's money....bet something. Without action, pool is like going to the library.

I never played for fun for my first fifteen years playing pool. When I got older I learned how to balance my life a little better. After that I only gambled when asked.
