The Reyes Cup

Oh wow, Matchroom makes their infamous "Mosconi Cup" trick. Seeing the day session one-sided they simply remove the 5th doubles match from the schedule :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
Forgot that was supposed to be the next match.

Feels kind of good to see Europe get stomped but probably not good for the USA because they got practice but that environment definitely isn't as loud as it will be in Florida.

Next year will be interesting though for Asia when they go to Europe

That's what an independent, for-profit entity can do. They are flexible. They can change things on the fly to ensure they deliver what they said they would to the TV networks and the fans. Hence, growing the sport:)

Its a made-4-tv/stream EXHIBITION. simple as that. They have airtime to fill so this is simply a way to do that. Its not rocket science people, its SHOWBIZ!!! ;)

I think Team Asia never leaves the region for the Reyes Cup, it is played there. Only the visiting team might be different, depending on who won the Mosconi Cup the year before.

Right, they learned it several years ago at the MC, and a couple of times in a row, I think. Before that there was no such flexibility in them

Seems to be a bit more of an audience today, but not much more. It sounds like there may be some other event going on in the same location, I hear cheers happening that don't correspond to what is going on in the pool games. I don't think Asians are rowdy like Americans or Europeans, so I don't think they can replicate the Mosconi Cup experience there.

So far for me the highlight has been seeing Yap and Quong actually smiling, showing human emotion!

Kind of wonder if Europe not having filler will be the deciding factor on them losing here.

Feel like Filler would have played the singles and we know he would have been in the doubles
Josh is the kinda guy who feeds off adversity, IMO not having him here is huge. I'll be at Mosconi this year and will be super bummed if no Josh. If I couldn't separate the art from the artist I'd have no music to listen to or movies to watch...SVB and Josh are my favorite players to watch.

GAME OVER for Team Europe. Total rout by Team Asia in Day 2. Not even close. Don’t think any team in Mosconi Cup history has ever comeback to win from 5 points down after 2 days.

Pretty embarrassing for Team Europe that MR had to step in and postpone fifth match of Day 2 to Day3 cos it would be disaster if the event had finished in 3 days instead of 4.
Shoe is not the other foot for Team Europe who have enjoyed dominance in MC for so long.

MR probably know it is foregone conclusion and now deciding who will be MVP :ROFLMAO:
Yapp frontrunner for MVP with 1 singles win +2 doubles win. Ko and Duong tied with 1 singles win and 1 doubles win. Biado 1 singles win. Chua 0 win

The horror. Meet the sked to satisfy broadcast partners.

Why do you pay attention given your MR-is-bad-at-everything viewpoint?

In any case, five matches a night might be too long. And I’d rather the event not end in three days.
