Repeatable Results?

Nothing happens randomly if it goes about Billard. If you are thinking in this direction, also a perfekt cleanliness of the balls needs to ensured each time before you rack them up, same for the cleanliness of the cloth and rails.

One major problem will be: How do ensure that the balls are being placed exactly always at the same position? With the standard templates placed like usual by hand, I guess that such a high exactness can not be acchieved for sure, we are talking here about a tolerance of ~ 0,1 mm or less that needs so ensured. Same exactness is for the shooting direction. And, how you wanna shoot exactly with the same force?? So, the cue piston machine needs to be also tested how repeatable it can apply the cueball speed, and also the machine needs to be well fixed on the table in order to acchieve always exactly the same shooting direction.

Theoretically clear and easy, but practically very difficult to perform in my opinion.
I don't think it is as difficult as you've suggested and I wonder where you get:

It isn't rocket surgery and people with all sorts of craziness inside them can have 'same rack' over and over again.

we dont do that anymore because jansco made up texas express to keep johnston city games moving faster.

soon all tournaments did that so people, like the sheep they are, followed suit. so now we have little gambling at 9 ball and most pool.
as pros dont care about the rules. but weaker players getting hooked and then selling out because they cant do a two or three rail a kick, quit playing nine ball as it made them look stupid and became no fun.

before with shoot out, they would get turns at the table, and left shots they might not make but at least they had a shot at the ball. instead of now no way to even hit it.

oh you can have your newfangled game of "9-ball", youngster. give me good old 15-ball with real players like cyrille dion and gotthiel wahlstrom:

There would be minor nuances that would effect the outcome everytime.

1. Just setting the balls over and over again the oil on your hands would effect things. Wear gloves, Fabric particles are now changing things.

2. Even if the balls are set in the same order everytime you will have variances because of roundness of the balls.

3. Most obvious is temperature and humidity. Constant resetting things is going to change the speed of the cloth.

4. Cloth age, everytime the cloth is just a little more worn.

I probably could go on and on. Precisely repeatable highly doubtful. Repeatable to a point, more then likely with slight variations.
