this is rapidly becoming unhinged and distasteful
Russia tried to crush Finland in WW2. They attacked with over 1 000 000 soldiers. We fought them back and kept our independence. We are small country about 5 million people and we never trust Russia.
Still not all Russians are spies. They are mostly normal people that don´t even like their country. Their leaders are always crooks though.
This Sammylane12 is being kinda racist, just not skin color, but place of birth.
Until U.S is really war I don´t think any of this shit talk belongs to pool forum.

During the invasion a Russian general and his troops come to a hill.
They hear a voice shouting: "One Fin can beat ten Russians!"
The general laughs about it and sends ten of his troops to go kill whoever is on the other side of the hill. There is alot of noise and shooting and after a while silence comes and none of the Russians return.
The voice speaks once again saying: "One Fin can beat 100 Russians!"

The general is fuming and sends 1000 of his best men. The noise and shooting lasts way longer this time and as silence almost settled again one Russian comes crawling back over the hill bleeding from a wound.
He says: "I beg you, don't send any more troops, it's a trap! There are two of them!"

Maybe one relevant question. I wonder how much better the USA team would do if they would have an Olympic grade preparation.
Which would be something like starting 6 months in advance coming together regularly. Doing all kinds of mental training, pool training focused on short 9-ball races and teambuilding stuff. Supervised by a trainer/coach that really works toward building the very best team.
How much better would the team perform? 10-20%? More?

They'd perform exactly the same as they do now. Who's going to pay for this btw?
Its NOT the Oly's(thank god) so why worry about it. That level of prep is never going to happen for what is basically a 3-4day tv AllStar show. They used an Oly-level coach once and yes they did win but there was a lot more to it than Johan being on the bench.

Preparation seems to be another differentiator between team USA and Europe. Team Europe got shellacked against team Asia so Jayson had all of the guys get together early for a boot camp / team building so they’d be ready for the Mosconi. Team USA gets embarrassed last year and yet SVB is off playing 14.1 in the international this year while the rest of the team is practicing.
The reason(s) SVB has played on/off in the MC over the years has nothing to do with preparation. Playing a little more 9ball a few weeks before the event is not going to change the 'team dynamic' or whatever the hell people want to call it. For various reasons(his deafness being big here) Shane has always been and always will be the 'lone wolf' player. To expect him to drastically alter his approach for a few days a year isn't going to happen. Team play and all the loud/rowdy rah-rah shit just isn't his bag.
Russia can't beat a third world military power like Ukraine if we give them the help we should which is now in question. Our #1 geopolitical foe is clearly CHINA.
But the number of people who play pool in Europe is far less. That said, the majority of pool players in the USA only play on small tables.
You know the russkies are fk'd when they offer get-out-of-jail passes(literally) to join the slaughter along with bringing in ultra-green NOKO conscripts as more cannon-fodder. I know this crap belongs in the NPR dumpster fire. Sorry.
