Please help with my tip issue.

Great idea thanks for the tip. ( Pun intended) I’ll buy both sizes for the future.
I just bought a new vegetable knife made by Cutco for $160.00 beans that cuts like a sharp glance.
Maybe I’ll wack the tip off using the Cutco and with some practice perform circumcisions on a few uptight AZB members.

Where I've always thought about offering the same service with a table spoon ha ha
I've got a serrated Cutco hunting knife yes they're sharp but not my favorite knife to use .

I have a variety of laser sharp knives for cooking. I dropped a tomato on the Cutco blade and she split in two, works for me.
I’ve never gutted an elk,,, lol.
I have slabbed and steaked giant bluefin tuna.

I've not stabbed or steaked a bluefin tuna but I've taken care of my fair share of deer , antelope , elk , buffalo and beef with a old wood handled Victorinox Forschner lamb skinning knife and a F. Dick smooth sharpening steel . Simple and yet very functional equipment .

a couple minutes with a razor knife and the tip is flush with the ferrel. then a couple more with sandpaper and its rounded just the way you want it.

or at least the way i want it.

I have come to the conclusion you need a lathe for tip replacements. I have practice and used many tools and techniques and came to the conclusion it won't be done right no matter how great of a job you did.

You need the RPM's to get it flush and for burnishing. Pay someone and save the heartache and frustration. You will get pissed off.

It's impossible to make it look like this, for example, with handheld tools. You need a lathe.

I call BS, You're just not skilled enough

After the tip is on and CA cures this is a must have tool. This and a sheet of 80 grit will finish the tip up nicely. Curve the 80 grit to shape tip.

You can do a tip with no lathe if you're experienced and have a lot of patience. These are just some examples of mine. No lathe, no drill, no knives, razor blades, or swords.

Doc, I should have been a surgeon. Well, except for the science part.
I teach my students that I can train an orangutan to suture. A great surgeon has to be a great physician first. It's what's between your ears that counts.

The science? Meh. That's the easy part. But it's the first challenge to filter out the smooth brains.
