Practice what I Preach

Competition can case harden as in knife making. Keeping the interior flexible is critical. Other wise just like a broken knife a shattered cue is of little value. It has resulted even with Ronnie o'sullivan.
missed shots in practice can give me numbers to drop into the computer when calculations are done. Observing as I am exercising my body and brain is my mantra.
Left vs Right go.

A daily fitness program gives physical and mental health. My pool table is a tax deductible fitness device. The exergeni was a favorite fitness device
In order, well my order is stretch and flex full range of movement turned into my pool playing dance. Simple.
The simple reason for practice open with one handed is the ground work emphasis. The slow practice Says take the full 10 seconds. Squat and peek. (Agood habit)

It's a secret fitness program. An hour a day keeps me as fit as I can be. The can is a big variable. I have been called The Can Man. 🤷‍♂️ I can dig it. Slow down and enjoy the missed as they provide an opportunity to learn. I like learning.

The 10 second drill. Slow roll

Shows my slow acceleration. My prescription calls for potting the ball at Minimum speed.
The Slow Roll
The laps from camera to full dance and shoot. 10 second laps is a fitness method . Easy to erase the evidence at the end of the session. Nothing political here. 😉 officer. Just having fun.

Ah, the Morning Runs. Basic training graduation really happened after the final morning run with the 10 pound m-1 rifles. At the finish line I was carrying 6 rifles, as others needed significant support and carry age. We all crossed the line together however. 🤷‍♂️ 😉
My morning run is The Chase on Colin's map that I got from drdave. Shot 1 becomes the last and run it just as an obstacle course. Setting high pocket runs playing Left vs Right.
My morning runs have become leisure walks. Of course my Slow Game is my Best Game. 🤷‍♂️
On the morning walk. Go

Uh oh the touchy feel E side (Lefty) just caught the Analytical side at 9-9. Feels fine.

The analysis is as important as the reps. The daily analysis starts with balance then dexterity. A Cue Twirler story is upon me. 😉
At The Ram tavern in Fuzzycrest that had an action table. The young man was a Baton twirler but he couldn't speel pool. So yeah in a Home Room twirling the cue is fine. In a public setting it's a violation. I extracted a reasonable fine from the youngster for his foe paw. 🤷‍♂️

My analysis of 0-4 defeat requires depth. So still analyzing my loved yet lost games. It was good competition and they earned the wins is the easy answer. The analysis of what and where I could have done better is ongoing. 😉
Yeah so back to The Chase and pursuit of a high run. Hmmmm could be fun. Lefty vs Right. Go

Grampa is still posting, his fingers must be cold. Yep.
The foundation and the Fun da mental is my sales pitch for the program. Take up the Chase for an hour a day for a week. What could it hurt.
Learning to walk before run . Requires rebuild from the ground up. My daily fitness (tax deductible) program.
The simple yet precision required shots present the opportunity for analysis. My baseball training started with the emphasis on hitting singles. The ability to control the struck ball is more important than POWER. You know announced presence. 🤷‍♂️

Coles stance didn't have a bent knee. 🤷‍♂️
With his tripod stance he was the most accurate long range shooter that I have observed.

Ambling and lost focus call for a break. As unfocused practice is useless at best and perhaps debt tra mental. 🤷‍♂️

Ah the morning cold start .
Back to the Basics, every morning is my start.
In the little tournaments a new guy needed to be strong right away. Soooo my first shot o the day demonstrated why I liked hitting first in baseball. I wanted to be the first to see what the pitcher had. 🤷‍♂️

DISCIPLINE!
Basic Cadet said:
SIR! The Discipline which makes the soldiers of a free country reliable in battle is not to be obtained through harsh or tyrannical treatment.
Was a favorite bit of knowledge required. Major General John M Schofield is the attribute to. As given to the graduating class at the United States military academy. West Point 🤷‍♂️
A Special Inspection starter question.
The Discipline to practice what I Preach is the challenge.

[Oh yea the rest]"On the contrary, such treatment is far more likely to destroy than to make an army. It is possible to give commands in such a manner and tone of voice as to inspire in the soldier, no desire other than to obey. The opposite manner and tone can not fail to inspire hatred and a desire to disobey." [/quote] SIR!

Secret: The Fingers
Just like playing the piano.
In A tense situation, if I see tightly clenched fists. I know I can prevail. An opponent with relaxed demeanor an open hands is A Huge question mark. 🤷‍♂️
Keeping the hand relaxed before milking the cow. Variable finger pressures change the vector/velocity just enough to change the path.
Barry Stark gets a big Star for the ring finger. I see most snooker players tapping the middle finger of the bridge hand. Makes me think they're middle is the trigger. The ring works best for me.
It seems Kyren had a slight dust up with Stephen Hendry regarding his Mentor Coach Barry and possible comments. I think? Not following yet. It could be over the eyes as Barry teaches object ball and Stephen says cueball. I have equal respect for the teachings of each. The cueball from Stephen and Ring finger from Barry is a valid marriage for My game! Hopefully they'll sort it. Hopefully

The Handicap is a valid equalizer for my left vs right morning fitness exercise. Finding a spot then watching lefty improve....until. alls equal with positional preferences are the hand decider. He'll once at the handshake he said, "you shot That with your left hand." Since I had just risen from the extremely difficult shot, I just looked to the cue in my left hand as our right hands touched and replied, "I guess I did."

The 3 a day practice regimen starts with 1 hour sessions. The Chase then The kicking Mule then 3 ball. The break is best practiced here. 4" off center with dead center strike to whitey should bounce straight back.

The yellow pad was launch and the threesome sat on the white pad.....8" in front of the white ball. Damn! I hit it good but nothing went in. Definitely deserved a Trophy photo.

Oh Gawd I Just had a flashback but now its.....gone. crs. Oh oh it was my internal uh censor committee. They decided I can go ahead but they maintain denying ability.
SO WHO PUT THE BULLET IN THE FURNACE? Ooops that was 1969. Now it's all right? Who Ran for The Law?. It was shortly after I got to Sacramento and had found a $5 tournament that had a good turn out but insisted on The Bullshit rules. No table scratch so just play it as it lays . I implored the tournament director to catch up with the times by playing ball in hand rules to no avail.
So I was playing the guy pointed out as number 1 in the small pond. Shortly after the break he shot a pretend shot that hit nothing and left nothing after I had played a legitimate safety to put whitey where it had been. So I didn't pretend, I just rolled it back well close to where it had been, only better. Could almost hear the Whooosh as somebody ran for the director. I had a better Bullshit safety planned if he did it again. Management showed up before he could hit it. The enquiry as to who did what. Upon report that neither of us attempted to hit a ball, he ruled. The game was to be reracked and he would preside. The first to Not Attempt would lose. It was my break and I made the 8 on the break. 🤷‍♂️ The very next week the rules were changed. Shrug progress doesn't always come easy.
So yeah anyway......Who dropped the dime? 😉
