Thoughts on the G2 cue tips

I always thought that Japan was known for making electronics, but apparently it's all about the billiard cue tips over in the Land of the Rising Sun. First it was Moori, then Kamui and now we've got the supremely awesome G2 pool cue tip.

My favorite.
Have been using G2 Medium since they first came out. Intermittently try others but always come back to the G2.
Never had any problem with mushrooming and they last a long time.
 
Finally I got to install one of the G2 tips that I got.
I've chosen to go with the medium for the CF shaft.
I'll get to try it tonight.

I know that I left it a bit high, but usually after a first session, the tip will flatten and mushroom a bit, so more shaping will have to be done later.

looks beautiful
have you found the g2 medium mushrooms a bit initially or just the mediums you have used in the pas?
i use the soft so i expect some mushrooming initially which after 1 or 2 at most shaping the tip doesnt mushroom anymore

Never used a G2 tip before, it's just experience I have with other brands.
 
I must be doing something wrong , I've not had any mushrooming with the G2 medium tips on either shaft yet and the one has had a great deal of playing time .

Even with the Techno dud I've got on another cue hasn't mushroomed , which I'm not complaining just adding to the conversation .

i posted my comment because with the amunt of mushrooming with the soft i wouldnt expect much if any mushrooming with the medium
but i dont use mediums so i dont know

I've never had my G2's mushroom, and I often break with my play cue, (Revo 12.4).
Just put them on and have fun.
Almost no maintenance other than the occasional scuffing.

If the G2 won't mushroom, it'll be great!
Never said it does, but usually with almost any tip that I've installed, I had to reshape it after the first session. So I always leave it a bit higher then most people. It also lasts longer like that and I don't mind it.

So I just had a couple of hours of playtime with the G2 medium.
Plays really nice, feels a bit on the softer side of medium.

It mushroomed ever so slightly; one would not be able to see or feel it, but the Longoni Razor did catch it a bit. Overall, it's impressive on the mushrooming compared to other brands.

It did lose its shape from a dime to a nickel shape. After cutting the small amount of mushrooming and burnishing, I reshaped it, and now it's at a perfect height for a new tip (for my taste).

I'll keep it on my player but will move to a hard tip when the time comes.

My g2 hard tip definitely mushroom.
Mushroom tip definitely hard g2 my.
G my tip definitely mushroom hard2.
