2025 World Snooker Championship (No More DAZN)

Oh wow. I woke early but not early enough.
Zhao snatching the pebble. 🤷‍♂️ "The changing of the guard " is appropriate.
The bow tie is awesome.
It must be bitter sweet for Ronnie as Zhao has learned well.

So relieved, the session is now in the archives. Looking forward to my morning entertainment. "Blink and you will miss it" or as Yogi said, "you can observe a lot by watching. "

Stephen Feeney, snooker coach and founder of SightTight Cue Sports, said "Hazel," a staff at WST event, mentioned that Ronnie changed his titanium ferrule and tip last night to brass before this morning's session. No wonder he had trouble.

Keith used to change his tip before and during tournaments, and I always thought it was a bad idea. But what do I know? I'm a mere railbird. :)

An elite snooker player can play near optimal with a solid house cue. Stephen Hendry (who played with a bent cue for years) just said as much on the BBC. Ronnie missed a few, Zhao was on fire and Ronnie lost his head a bit.

Stephen Hendry said Ronnie had always used brass, but for this tournament, he switched to titanium with his new cue. The titanium throws the shots off a bit than what he was used to, I think, with the brass. But to change it mid tournament, I think, made his Session 2 worse.

titanium is lighter and would throw less than brass (less deflection). this matters mostly when using sidespin. for example long "shots to nothing" in the beginning of a frame when you want to go for a shot and go around the black and back to the kitchen. either way it's not something to experiment with in a WC semifinal 🤣

williams has played some very inspired snooker. looking to close the session at 8-8.. can he do it?

also never seen him angry enough to hit his cue with his fist

Feels like a very strange thing to do, you could see he was not very happy with the TI ferrule but to switch mid match is just crazy.

2 in a row. Still a dog just based on the difference in score, but at least making it competitive.

that video illustrates the point very well. not a big problem in amongst the balls, but on hard long/medium shots it will show up. in this case more deflection isn't bad, cause he's played with that compensation for 45 years

I had no idea they were playing Session 3 today with Ronnie. I thought it was tomorrow. That is what Snooker.org had on their website. They must have changed or Snooker.org was wrong.
