12-4... no coming back from that
He had a new ferrule fitted between yesterdays session and todays apparently- titanium to brass. Completely sabotaged himself. Feel sorry for anyone with money on him.12-4... no coming back from that
Stephen Feeney, snooker coach and founder of SightTight Cue Sports, said "Hazel," a staff at WST event, mentioned that Ronnie changed his titanium ferrule and tip last night to brass before this morning's session. No wonder he had trouble.
Keith used to change his tip before and during tournaments, and I always thought it was a bad idea. But what do I know? I'm a mere railbird.![]()
Stephen Hendry said Ronnie had always used brass, but for this tournament, he switched to titanium with his new cue. The titanium throws the shots off a bit than what he was used to, I think, with the brass. But to change it mid tournament, I think, made his Session 2 worse.sounds stupid. brass and titanium have different properties

Evidently he gave the cue enough smacks. Was it 5 or 6 whacks?hit his cue with his fist
titanium is lighter and would throw less than brass (less deflection). this matters mostly when using sidespin. for example long "shots to nothing" in the beginning of a frame when you want to go for a shot and go around the black and back to the kitchen. either way it's not something to experiment with in a WC semifinal![]()
Feels like a very strange thing to do, you could see he was not very happy with the TI ferrule but to switch mid match is just crazy.
