Why?There should be a gambling forum.
So issues like these can be clarified before they can harm someone. Just like the Aiming Forum. Why?
there is oneThere should be a gambling forum.
Yeah but that's a betting window. I mean something like that Aiming forum where anyone can go to get fundamental advice from anyone else.
The very notion of this has always bothered me a bit. I’ve known many like this that love to call themselves “smart gamblers”, players that will NEVER offer or accept a truly fair game, that will only get in the box if they have the lockdown Hungarian nuts. The very notion of the word gamble is to take a chance, to decline or never offer a fair game isn’t being a smart gambler, it’s being a lock artist which is just a different form of nit. My opinion of course, your mileage may vary. The guy is a smart gambler for getting what he wants.

I was known as the action guy in my area…..never had a problem with nits…there are lots of people who like to bet.
…had a lot of people claim they wanted to just make a fair game….I would tell them keeping your money in your pocket is fair.
I’ve had seven centuries at snooker where I lost the game…so I had the rep for giving up the nuts….told one of my friends…”If they were in with me they would be showing a profit so how is that giving up the nuts?”
True, but it kills a lot of action when lesser players are so scared, they think they couldn’t win no matter how much weight you gave up. Some are so game though, they won’t accept a spot from anyone, but still, losing can get old. I would rather play a lot, and a closer contest is just more fun.I played everybody even. With local gamblers it was kinda understood I would give them one or two chances a game. Road players, still played even but it was root hog or die!
I miss the days of being able to find twenty or fifty a game action every night. Funny thing, in many years of gambling I can only remember playing thirty or forty a game once. You played for a beer or drink, three a game, five a game, ten a game, twenty, fifty, one hundred once in a rare while. The california kid came through town and I was chasing him for five hundred or a thousand a game but we never caught up with each other. I always wanted to play by the game and once the bet was raised I kept it at numbers that prevented someone from getting back to even. Too many quit when they got back even. Too many people wanted to quit after losing a set or two also. When they were winning a little, losing a little, by the game I could usually nurse them along until they had an empty wallet.
No time for handicap tournaments either. "I beat Shane!" Of course he was having to give three games on the wire and the lemon crush! If I do something I like to be able to brag about it. No bragging rights come with spots and handicaps.
