A New Pool game...? Yes... Look inside...

Alas, no, sir.

The two sets pictured are the only balls we have made… a Poker Pool set released in 2023 and a Romanique set in 2024.

Both sold out within a few weeks. 👍

Were you interested in having some made?

EPCO in Massachusetts (or their subsidiary company, Paramount) sometimes cast one-offs using Partek resin.

Sadly, I have mostly lost hope that we will hear from Jack again.

No email updates or replies to personal messages.

The guy was promising televised international tournaments within a year of the balls being produced, which was supposed to be about now by the way. Where is the line between extreme naivete and bullshit?
He was going to be travelling doing demos, he had room owners lined up, a big crowdsourcing campaign and on and on. He created a twitter account, posted once, showed up here, made a few posts, and that was the end of the saga. I can do this all right now.

Yes, everything you say is true, Moe, but Jack honestly believed all that was possible in my view.

I don’t think he was trying to scam anyone.

Yeah he posted a bunch of times here, not really a herculean feat.

but unlike rubik, i have not yet given up on hearing from jack again, or his successor

Who's this now? The OB spotter guy?

Yes, he started a discussion with a working prototype. It is far from a finished product but he proved already he is serious about his idea. He claims he even has a patent pending.

His next step is to realize he just began his journey instead of completed it, and take criticism non emotionally.

Would you maybe like to share more details on how this works/scores? It sounds fun from what i read so far :)

Hello, Mr M. 🙂

Thank you so much for taking an interest and the kind words, dear chap.

It is twenty plus years since I created Dublin Chemmy and drew that little game card. I’m getting on a bit in age now, sir, and am embarrassed to admit that I cannot recall much about the finer details of how we used to play it at my local bar.

I know we gambled modest sums of money (just £5 or so) and it was good friendly fun and an interesting challenge.

Let me see if I can get the little grey cells working and remember more, Mr M. 🙂

If i remember right, in Baccara the 9 is worth 9 points and the Ace 1, but all the other 4 cards 0 points. So i was curious how to „get close to 9 points“ actually works, if 4/6 pockets don’t bring any points.

I was thinking, it must be something with the players 2 pockets, like the own bring points and the opponents cost points, and maybe the balls have values as well, or something like that. So i was just curious how this all works together in the end 😊

I like exploring new games, started with research after i found out about the „300 Ways…“ book, and am now well over 400 billiard games so far. I made PDFs for all of them and printed 2 folders for fun little games at home. It became a little addiction on its own 😄

I tried your Romanian Pool as well, and quite liked it. Thanks for sharing it!
