The new Tournament Pro will debut at the WPBA Oneida event this weekend. Looks kinda like a Diamond with ball-return and flush pockets. Nothing on their site yet but if you Google it you'll find pics. Looks really nice from what i can see.

I Googled it and Yahoo'd it. I don't see any specific pics. Lots of pics of the Champion Pro table. Can you provide a link?

And it's funny. When I took up this hobby in late 1998 I had just watched the Challenge of Champions from Uncasville, CT. It was Oliver Ortmann and Kung Fang Lee. They were playing on an Olhausen Champion Pro table. At that time it sort of became my dream table.

I went to Indianapolis to the Olhausen dealer to inquire about one. Their sales guy didn't even know who Oliver Ortmann was. So I left there and went over to the Brunswick dealer. Eventually bought the Gold Crown IV.

Just Google 'new WPBA Olhausen tables'. there's a few links. i saw one on a FB post that had a bunch of pics. nice looking table. Go to John Stich's FB page. He has the pics. He's working the tournament. Said they're all for sale after the event.

You are right. They do look like the Diamond Pro Am table. I like the looks of the old Olhausen Champion Pro table as well as the Diamond Professional model.

Thanks for the info!

I assume that the infamous “ Olhausen pocket rattle” has been corrected. They sold tables with incorrect pocket angles for 40 years! Amazing how they just refused to correct that flaw and got away with it in the basically home table business.

agreed. I love my 8' olhausen except for the "rattle". It's extremely fast and I love the accufast rails. Very true.

Look kind of cheap and unfinished to me. Exposed shiny bolt heads sticking out on the legs is a very cheap and unthought out look to their construction methods. Also, while hard to tell by the picture, the side pockets appear to have screw heads sticking out holding the pockets down. Top rail plastic covering rolling over the edge looks cheap also. These are just my views though and could change if I were to see it in person. They are sponsoring WPBA extensively now though, and that is a good thing.
Wife and I were going to stop in and see some of the TMT as it's only about a 40 min drive from our summer place, but I don't know now as there is so much rain predicted, we are not sure when we will be going that way.

Stuff like the exposed bolts are of zero concern to me. The pocket bolts look to be flush mount and should be no concern. I look at tables as equipment and not furniture. This table looks a lot like Diamond or Rasson offerings to me. If it plays good and is stout i really couldn't care less about little details like this. ProAm D's will never win a beauty contest either but they're built like tanks and play great. Good to see Oly uppin their game.

I agree that going by looks alone they look cheap, especially the token piece of stainless on the corner of the blinds, it looks like a repair job. Looks was never Olhausens problem though, it was playability, hopefully they addressed that. I have played on some older Olhausen 9' commercial tables, they have got to be amongst the worst ever as far as play goes.

I’m moving back north and may be looking for a table if I find the right living space to accommodate one.

Guaranteed that it will not be an Olhausen. I think that an older properly updated Brunswick would be my first choice - the Anniversary is just so classic - IMO - here is my older son’s—

How would we know?

Very informative post. No attempt to de-rail the thread whatsoever. Brilliant contribution.

Those Anniversary table are nice but I refuse to pay what they want for one around here if you can find one. There was a 10' Snooker table version for sale recently and they wanted 6500 for it.

Are these tables on the level of Diamond, Rasson, or Predator, I doubt it, but the fact of the matter is there is a lot of money involved here in sponsorship deals, and knowing that, I doubt you will hear any pro player complain as sponsorship is king. They all will be playing on the same tables and will adjust if needed.
You almost never hear a true professional complain, be it a 7' Valley or whatever, if the money is there they just buckle down and do what's needed to win, no matter the tables.
Complaining seems to be a spectator thing, and no surprise a AZB thing, ha ha.

Possible, but don’t hold your breath;)

I like the look of the table. I wonder if it’s a one piece top meant to be rolled in, seeing how the legs look like they can attach easily.

The more competition, the better.

Thanks - your post is quite informative as well- and very contributory to the site, I might add. I don't care for Olhausen tables- that was the point- and I think that I have made enough contributions to this site that some here may be interested in my future intentions- which include a possible home table again- but definitely not an Olhausen- sorry to disturb you- just block me , please!
