Because they want to be the one that purchases it using your knowledge. Then come back on here to try and flip it.
The bids are pretty high too. It's either something but I can't afford to take the gamble. I don't know much about these old cues.

It may be something good too since people are bidding.

Let's look at the Clues
#1. 18 thread joint pin
#2. 4 veneers (cocobolo point wood)
#3. Bumper

Meucci ? , Mali ? , Jacoby ? Helmsetter ?

My Guess - Adam or Helmsetter
(could be Mali)

A lot of the bidding could be due to high confidence. The seller (lady) seems to be honest. She said she found it wrapped up at a yard sale and in her description, she made a hint that it may be a Titilist conversion.

The more modern looking shaft is an early OB.

Cue comes with 3 shafts and whatever that other cue is.

No mention on straightness. If a non-pool player inherited these and had them stored incorrectly, everything could be badly warped. I would not chance anything close to where the bidding currently is. Also, who starts off with a black veneer around dark wood? That seems kind of screwy.
