Good for him!

I have watched people do the work to become a citizen. It isn't a gimme, a lot of work involved including prepping for the test. Respect for him and everyone that goes through the process.

My grandparents were immigrants. They came here the right way. Classes where they took tests, learned the Pledge of Allegiance, etc. The went thru the process you speak of.

Nothing but respect for people that immigrate the right way. My family on my dad's side is as old or older than the USA, I guess we could say grandfathered in!

Mom's family was still having people coming from the old country a decade or two ago, may still be some coming over. They come legally, work like hell, become citizens. When I saw how hard it was to become a US citizen I was damned glad to be born in the USA!

He's a good man.

He did it the right way and living the American dream.

I'm sure he can find a place here with enough space than his home country can offer. Travel in the states and play pool. There are enough tournaments here to make a living especially now that SVB is picking and choosing what he plays in.

i think his main income is from the instructor side now. he can still compete, but has become a bit yippy the last few years

All 4 of my grandparents came here legally. They could not speak English but learned, wanting
only English to be spoken at home. They were proud & happy to be US citizens.
They finally settled in Birmingham, working in the coal mines, the steel industry, and then both
grandfathers became grocers.
Mom had 10 sisters and 1 brother, dad had 4 sisters and 1 brother.
Welcome to America Toasty.

I wish him the best of luck. Every time he leaves the US, there is no telling if he will be allowed to re-enter. Hope he is carrying a burner phone with zero social media on it, that is all I can say.

Why anyone would want to become a US citizen right now is beyond me.

Yeah because living in Afghanistan, Ethiopia, or Haiti would be so much more pleasant. SMH !!!!!!
