World Pool Championships 2025, July 21-26, Jeddah

For anyone on mobile that runs into buffering issues, try exiting the browser completely (clear recent apps/whatever the iOS equivalent is.) I missed the last 5 racks because of it.

The DJ is really cute.
I know everyone likes to comment on Saudi Arabia, usually negatively, but the country is changing. The people are too. I actually see more than a few women in the stands and most are dressed in a more modern fashion.

I don’t judge Saudi Arabia by US or Western standards. The country will have to find its own way into the future … not that I much care. Got enough to worry about in my own country!

This is why winner breaks works. Even if one guy runs away with it. You have to ask, “Was the other guy capable of returning the favor?” If not, he deserves to lose. But Fedor is showing that if you’re up to the task, you deserve to be there.

Biado gets his chance again finally. Nice kicking.

A year or two ago, I heard a WNT or WPA announcer say Carlo had trouble with long shots, especially straight ones or those with little angle. So I started paying attention.

Sure enough, he did, and does. I didn’t expect him to make the long 2 ball. Fedor didn’t either. He missed another long ball in the semis that most players would make.

MBS revolutionized the country because a majority of their population is in their 30's. They have more young people than old.

Of course, he is still going to rule with an iron fist towards his detractors but as country, the citizens are very happy.

Nothing to say about Saudi Arabia the country, but we can all see they are not pool fans. I'm holding on to the hope that this will change.
