World Pool Championships 2025, July 21-26, Jeddah

Gotta love Gorst and everything about his game, but 2025 has been a year in which he hasn't been able to get to the finish line. After a great Derby City Classic in January in which he won the one pocket, the bank pool and the Master of the Table, he remains without a title in either 9ball or 10ball this year.

Love Fedor's form right now and feel like he might well prevail at one of the two majors in August, the Florida Open and the US Open 9ball. Wishing him the best. What a player!
winning need always some luck to be in your side. Sometimes it is that you get chance to perform and if you are unlucky you won´t!

To be honest, it feels to me that Fedor is fiddling too much with equipment, extension on cue, extension in pocket, two jump cues, it's all too much. He need to get his focus back on the game. He is a great player but he is all over the place, also with his vlogging and the long races he had this year.

He had a boatload of luck on his side today including the finals. It’s what kept this match closer than it could have been, given how both were running out.
Im talking this on general level. Not necessary Gorst or this match but overall. Being in top 4 consistent in tourneys show skill, Winning those tournaments you need something go your way in critical moments. Like SVB winning 9ball WC back in days. He was buried vs Mika but then catch a gear and luck was on his side and rest is history..

The name "Gorst" is pronounced with a short 'o' sound as in "gorse" or "gross" and then the "st" sound. It is not pronounced with a long "o" sound as in “go”
Ummm.

Gross and go have the same long ‘o’

I don’t know a common English word ‘gorse’

I mean, it exists, but maybe use another word for an example and comparison.

‘Hot’ has a short ‘o’ … are you saying it’s that pronunciation?

Can't comment here. I am not aware of any of this.

Oh for sure. But I think anyone who watched would agree that Fedor for all his greatest got a disproportionate amount of rolls. I just hope that keeps up in the Mosconi cup.

Might well be, but I'd put Ga Young Kim at 6th best woman player of all time. I don't think Biado is as high in the men's all-time pecking order.
Carlo needs at least a couple of major titles more to have a chance for HOF. Fedor is most certainly on his way there but not for another 10+ years until he’s 40. By then he should have a bunch of titles already to qualify with flying colours.

None of that matters right now! This is a moment to celebrate for Carlo! And I am.

who else turns 40 with a more worthy resume the coming years?

i don't care too much about the HOF thing but to win three world championships and a US open in this era, with these monster filled fields, is insanely impressive

LOL, two golds and one silver at the World 9ball, a World 10ball, a US Open 9ball title and a Japan Open 10ball title. Carlo is a lock for induction and probably was a week ago.
