Ebony Dufferin Cues and a Girly Bonus

I have been into ebony Dufferin Cues recently and picked up another one from a member here that just came a few days ago. That's the third one in the pics. Original butt conversion said to be Baxter, piloted 5/16x14 stainless collar, with short wrap added later possibly by Theewen, Jerry R shaft with ivory ferrule. Frankencue. In any case the work is very nice. I grabbed some pictures today but I had been playing with them and realized when I pulled them up on my PC I should have wiped them off. That ebony sure does show the hand smudges! Oh well, it's the real world. Here they are. Anything you see on the finish is just hand smudges. Yes, they play very nice.

Any thoughts on a more presentable bumper on that first cue?

Bonus: My daughter was plating pool with me today. She hand made this purse with her art on it, so I set up this shot with the purse. It is fully lined with pockets and compartments inside and two handles that clip to the D rings, and it has a shoulder strap that buckles to each end that is not in the picture.

I think she needs to make me a butterfly case.

All three of those conversions are sweet but that one with the wrap is right up my alley. I prefer wrapped cues (sweaty and greasy skin) and points without veneers. Hell, that's one of the reasons I traded my Dayton Hoppe with veneers for a Nitti four pointer without veneers. The Dayton was probably "worth" more. But they both hit great and I liked the looks of the Nitti more.

Thanks.

The only thing converted about the middle cue is that it has a cue shaft screwed to it instead of a snooker cue shaft. It has the original Dufferin 5/16x14 piloted Glider joint. I have an original 29 inch Dufferin shaft on it.

The first cue has a pin conversion to a standard 5/16x14 piloted instead of the Dufferin Glider pin.

Very nice!

That bumper is just on with a screw. You can get any different screw on type to replace or have the end threaded and maybe recessed a bit for a threaded bumper.

My current player is a one piece Ebony conversion I made. I still have the second one I will convert someday. I may be replacing it though with a cue I am working on right now.

Nice!

Yeah, I've had these bumpers off before, including this one.

I was actually considering doing like a .25 inch cap on it. Something subtle. Then a tasteful bumper slightly recessed in that.

I will probably mess around with bumpers I have and see what looks better and fits nice.

I am really digging these cues.

That would have been my next suggestion, but I didn’t know how far you wanted to modify it.

I’ve been loving mine. Only reason I might change is I finally got my hands on a Titlist one piece to convert. Been looking for the right one for a few years.

I have ideas for the other Ebony. Hope to fit it in soon.
