Pronunciation of "Aloysius" (Yapp)

FWIW, all of the announcers for the finals of the Florida Open that I heard used the same pronunciation for Yapp's first name.
Phil Yates read this thread. He commented on the live stream that some people pronounce the name al-oh-WISH-us but he said that he asked Yapp and he pronounces it uh-LOY-shus.

I think @VTEC John and @Biloxi Boy will be quite interested in that info.

The pronunciation of Yapp's first name came up when he first finished high in a major. I thought it was settled at that time.

And calling me out was to? I made one of the best points made here -- a person has a right to pronounce his name however he pleases.

Blame the Brit’s….
Look what they did to aluminum, oregano & Rodrigues!
To be fair.... (see what I did there) most of the rest of the world uses the alternate spelling of Aluminium that is more consistent with other elements like Titanium, Cadmium, Magnesium etc. The one that still throws me off the most is hearing their pronunciation of "decal".
