CTE Aiming

Geno’s shift is a real thing. I worked with him and IMO you have to work with him to see it. I am not ready to do a full review of it. It isn’t a one size fits all thing but depends on how you perceive the balls. IOW, I don’t think it’s fair to dismiss as a gimmick.

I had opportunity to view Geno’s Generation One DVD, IMHO it was nothing.🤮

Returned it to owner, who had same impression.🤮

If you have no fundamentals, you will have zero consistency pocketing ball after ball.

Dr. Dave shows you how to Aim. Dr. Dave is a real Teacher.

Well I didn’t see the gen 1 DVD. I agree if your other fundamentals are unsound you have problems. I haven’t worked with Dr. Dave so nothing I say is criticism of him. I have seen his vision center stuff and used it to some degree at least. What I am saying is I worked with Geno in June in person. I have taken lessons from different people. Some known as teachers. Some known maybe more for their play. Like a world champ. I have had some good instruction. Geno showed me something that has me perceiving things better that isn’t talked about in books or videos I have seen. It isn’t a gimmick IMO and doesn’t contradict other fundamentals.

IMO your criticism is unfair- aside from your criticism of the gen 1 DVD. Again, I am not ready to say how much what we worked on will improve my game. I have to work with it more and see how it affects what I get out of drills etc… I have seen some improvement though. How much is due to the base I built through working with other instructors - Tin Man in particular- is hard to say right now.

How hard do you want to make this game?? I learned real fast this game is hard as hell to master without adding anything extra to the mix. Perhaps better players need that extra something bcuz they're so good at it, but I still learn things every time I play and I'm all about simple.
See my other post in response to CC. But I think seeing things more accurately will simplify things for me. So far it seems to. I am not a great player tho

Well I shared my opinion of the GEN 1 DVD, that was loaned to me by6b FASTLarry. Gave you my opinion of the DVD, the price of $79.00 was too much for sizzle.

You stated, "Well I didn’t see the gen 1 DVD."

Point made.

Imo, it works. I think in order to benefit most, you need a solid foundation before tackling cte.
I can see how it might appeal to some, but I've been using mine for so long, the number of balls I'd make using cte wouldn't increase my % that much. Mine works, so why change??

What I am talking about is not CTE. The shift Geno talks about is not the CTE pivot.

This isn't meant to disparage, but is it possible you just didn't get it?

I would hope a DVD could explain the system so everyone understood but it's vastly different than being taught by the instructor. With a live instructor you can ask questions to better understand the material. I don't know the ethics with it being a loaner copy, but if I had purchased the DVD and didn't get it or see the sizzle, I would have contacted Geno and asked him about it. You know, give him a chance to "make it right."

He's a great instructor and can explain something a dozen ways so it makes sense to the individual student.

I got a free lesson from Geno and it really helped with an issue I was having, where shooting to one side was stronger than the other. I bought the DVD (can't remember the price) and watched it after the Skype session. I re-watched it about a year later for a refresher. I think the DVD is just fine, but obviously you will get more out of it by talking with an instructor and letting him watch and coach you as you learn the system.

I don't get the hate. You didn't buy anything from him, but you act like he straight ripped you off. It's a bit unfair considering that if you were the original purchaser there is a chance he could have explained it over an email or a phone call.

I like and respect your opinion, but I don't think your attacks on Geno are easily justified. He didn't see one dime from you, nor did you give him a chance to explain what you weren't seeing.

Well he is a question I ask long ago when Perfect Aiming DVD first came out, it it was some sort of Holy Grail system, when did not places like Mueller's, Pool Dawgs, Siebert carry this Instructional DVD? You would think if it was so special they would want to offer it to their customers. BTW None did. As I said I viewed the material 3 times, before returning the DVD to FastLarry, we both thought it was noting setting world on fire.

Also when CTE first came on scene, I played with it also after watching U-Tube on the System from JBCases, it actually had something that helps with aiming some shots. CTE is a Tool I believe if you devote a lot of time to you should get rewards.

JMHO

I agree. It's not for everyone but CTE can work well if you study and practice it.

You have to approach a businesses to sell a product on their site. You will have to sell them to the site cheaper so they can sell them at a profit. I have no idea why Geno didn't choose to do so, or if there were ever any "negotiations" to sell them on other sites.

Asking this isn't logical. It's common for instructors that sell DVDs/videos on their site to not sell at third party pool retail sites. Bert Kinister is one such instructor that sells on his own website. I'm sure there are dozens of others but it seems like a fools errand to try to gather a list of instructors selling their product not through a third party.

The order of aiming in a CTE context is to use Stan and Hal themselves, as to any other case of aiming which should be strictly considered as visual.

As well as audible.

As well as literal.

Not as... objective.

Therefore it is Stan and Hal as subjective and thus.... objectionable.

It is a fact that visual imput = varied output. The more input, the less variance ie; variance = questionable × ?²

Why we miss vs make = why we make vs miss.....they are both virtually the same AKA but treated differently.

This is a much worse problem than any objectional relevance to CTE = Stan and Hal.

But at the same time, its foolish to write off what cannot be excluded, despite Stan or Hal's beliefs or intentions.

The amount of slandering and poetic back biting in this thread only proves more about the people on one or both sides, take your pick.

...its a virtual antipode collective example of a man presiding in his own case as a common law ANTI-maxim...

Something like that. I mean for Christ sake, how is Stan? Hopefully alive still and in good health ideally.

I would imagine he's still alive, I mean I don't think the level of "man" in here is so uncivilized as to begrudge a man of water or something....i hope not.

Sir, this is a Wendy's.

Not even to the wife of a pro-player who is supposed to be an instructor of CTE.
She's a top.20 pro player..
She has a number of videos on YT. Shoots lots of patterns for practice. See shot, shoot the shot.
