Yuan8 open match update

7-4 in the final atm. Interesting final so far. Fancy Bernie for the win. Took a few racks of Vogel. Nice kid. He’s playing a little cash set with my friend now. Decent crowd and the hall is buzzing

Nice win for Albert Januarta. He has really come on strong since winning the junior international open at the WPC in July. That was the first time I had seen him.

Looks like he already has lost some baby fat I saw on him at the WPC. He's been traveling to most of the big events since the WPC. Played in the Florida Open, Battle of the Bull, U.S. Open.

Excellent shotmaker. Plays fast like most youngsters. He does lose the cue ball on the break a lot, sometimes misses his position marks and needs a better tactical game. He tried to let Regalario back into the contest a handful of times with weak safeties or poor pushouts.

But another teriffic young talent.

I got a beef with the billiard world……if SVB can get steam for fiddling with the volume of his hearing aid…..anybody who doesn’t have to shave should have to give up a healthy start….I’ll take the 6,7,8. 😳

Albert Januarta is like a mix of Wu Chia Ching’s pattern plays and Aloysius Yapp’s consistent shooting skills. Deadly combo.

Albert and Felix are 17 years old and are both on a fast track and will be counted as stars of the game very soon. Though enormously talented, neither is really a finished product yet.

It seems silly to compare them to historic early bloomers like a) Wu (World 9ball champion and World 8ball champion at 16), b) Filler (World 9ball champion and Mosconi MVP by age 20), or Gorst (World 9ball champion at 19). Nonetheless, they have good attitudes, good work ethics, and, most importantly, they are playing in a lot of events worldwide, so the sky is the limit. Still, let's give them some time. Expecting either of them to secure a world championship in the next few years is probably asking too much of them.

Bernie Regalario, bronze medalist at the 2025 World 9ball, is a bit further along than Albert and Felix, but he's 20 and they are 17.

Wishing all three of these magnificent cueists the best of luck as they attempt to plot a path to pool superstardom.

In China, they use measure word for tens, hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands etc.

So they would say 2 ten thousands, hence the comma placement 😂 二万 = 二/2 and 万/tens of thousand (four zeroes)
Thanks for that. I couldn't get my head around how you'd say that. :ROFLMAO:
