just signed up. stream is looking nice enough but the interface is even worse than wnttv. can't skip or go back, can't put the video floating over other apps, can't cast to tv.

is this the only place to stream the china open?

It's also confusing because you suddenly get Heyball live tables as well. Also no live scoring so would see what matches are on going and what are the scores.
 
on the forward/rewind thing, i noticed you can tap the left or right side of the video, and it worked. then it stopped working for some reason, but the function is there
 
It's worthy of note that the China Open stream is free to watch. No subscription needed. Yay!

Everyone likes free, but of course almost nothing in life is really "free." Someone is paying to air the matches.

If sponsors and advertisers are paying, great. I am not sure that is a sustainable business model that can pay players well, but I am still happy to tune in.

WPA Live sure needs a lot of work, though. Why are pool broadcasters so 1990s! ??

kozoom streams only fixed camera and no commentary right? that's the difference between wpalive.tv i think (and youtube commercials, obviously).

china open has always had the main camera slightly too low/flat. i like it get up a bit more, and zoom in a bit more.

filler should have lost against fu che wei. fu dogged it bad at hill-hill
 
This field is abvsolutely loaded.

Americans tend to overlook just how elite the China Open really is. Until aboput 2015, it was probably harder to win it than the US Open 9ball, although that has changed since Matchroom took over the US Open in 2018 and made it more international. Many of the game's legends, despite countless attempts, have never managed a China Open title.

This event will produce a great champion. May the best man win!

... and, of course, the question burning inside of me is "Can Yapp add another major to his already mind-blowing resume of 2025?" Wishing him and all the other magnificent players in this field the best of luck.

Fairly strong field, but not as strong as any WNT major this year or the big Predator events, if the bracket of players I've seen is correct.

This list is missing a few of the top Tapei players in the event, and I am not familiar with most Chinese names.

the chinese players don't conform to our sense of order, much less to fargorate, and tend to wreak havoc with the poor euros up until the QFs, when order resumes and filler wins.

Yeah, Chinese players are mostly technically flawless and always cause upsets, especially on their home soil. Most of them don’t travel outside China for tournaments or don’t do well in them. Usually under Fargo radar.
 
In double-elimination Group F, Yapp just snuck by Oi 9-8 after Oi broke dry at hill/hill, Yapp played safe, Oi missed the kick, and Yapp ran out. So I think that puts Yapp in the single-elimination stage (Last 32) tomorrow and Oi has to beat Loukatos to get there.

If you download WeChat, I can link you to live streams there. Can also link you if you download Douyin (just change AppStore briefly to China to download - I have some friends abroad who use it just for streaming)

Xue Zhenqi is a beast. Zhu Xihe is great to watch. He didn’t do so well against He though. The alternate break is a bitch. Ao Hongming is decent. Ma Chenchao a great Shanghainese player. Was really rooting for Fu to top filler but he blew it. Many of the top Chinese battled hard. A lot of them had to go through stage one. Lu Hui Chan, Kuo Po Cheng, Liu Ri Teng etc. I was surprised by the direct entries to stage two. Stage one was bloody strong field to begin with. So those players who qualified via that route will no doubt be fatigued

Kozoom seems to focus on the TW players, and those connected via. Shanghai/Zen
They stream at a slight delay, but the video quality is good. They take directly from the same cameras that are used in many stores in China via. An app.
