that is a basic true thing most dont understand. people with exceptional abilities in some way would be exceptional at any thing that used those abilities.
except for the elvis thing as his ability doesn't transfer to sports.

This was a match in the Philippines. Carlo and (I assume) Efren. This isn’t a Matchroom event or WPA.

Modern players do not see the same conditions during professional events like the players in the 70’s and 80’s did . That’s a fact. Why any newby want to try to make it sound like that didn’t happen is beyond me.

In the 80s, nobody had a good handle of what good conditions were, so every table, every tournament was different. different pocket size, different cushions, different conditions,. The whole reason Greg Sullivan started Diamond (PBATE) was because there were no standards. You’re all too lucky to not grow up in that period.

If we magically transport Gorst or Filler back to the 80’s, they would also have to adjust their game to the weird conditions, just like anyone today who walked into a bar and tried to play bar pool on the terrible conditions they have there. It’s not like we’re all world champions in a bar room environment when the tables suck. We all have to adjust. But I’m sure Fedor and Joshua could adjust as well as anybody as they are world generational champions. But it’s not like they’re gonna step back there and suddenly dominate because everything was different! All you gotta do is go to any local weird bar to find out how different it is. Can you adjust? of course you can. But you gotta adjust!

adapt? he grew up on tables like this. do you think if you grow up playing on tables like this (which is rougher than in literally any filmed 1980's US pro match i've seen) you get a "strong stroke"?

not that i give any credence to the notion that modern pro players from any country have weaker strokes than previous pros, but let's follow your logic

Especially, from everywhere else in the world, except the United States. People from all over the world, at very young ages, kick the United States’ Butt, and it doesn’t have to be a big country.

It's where I go to feel good about myself if I am in a slump. You can hit the long rail halfway up and still pocket a cut shot in the corner. You can do crazy caroms with confidence in 9ball. It's not impossible to miss, but it's damn sure hard if you're trying to pocket balls.

I once owned a GC 4 that was used in some major pro tournament - the pockets were 5 inch corners .
