The eBay cue?

AFAIK, he didn't make most of them, it was his helpers. Can't think of who at the moment, forgive my head injury please.

It's a sneaky, valued player. Shaft is the business. I have a couple TS shafts for my Joss cues, great shafts.

Value? What's it worth to you?

I bought one on eBay once. It was a fake. Returned it. Got my money back.

This one looks legit but...I dunno....

Had a Frey sp long ago. Guy wants $800 for it. I'm unsure at the moment. Seems cheap for a Scruggs....

The main makers of Scruggs sneaky petes were Bob Frey, and John Slovotnik later on, when Bob went on his own, and Mike Chochran partnered with Tim. Very good cues, a lot of tournament players used them. But correct, Tim had his hands on very few of them.

Thanks. I was fuzzy on that.

Yes, they are very good cues.

Yes thank you. I'm still looking for the year made by the TS logo though. I know Tim used different stylings through the years.

Cheap?

I think that's relative.

Could just be a good price.

Frey, Scruggs, etc., known to be great players. Most of that is in the shaft IMHO as far as the cue. Of course, that depends mostly on the player.

I think this is the one I saw and I was tempted. I just don't need a player.

But you can pick up a decent sneaky in the $100 range.

These cues carry an mystique for sure.

In the end it's up to you. If you have been after one, and this is legit, you could do worse.

I am a bargain hunter, but occasionally I have paid more for a cue just because I wanted it. Maybe nobody else wanted it as bad? I dunno. I will say I have done that several times and have never regretted it. But I have more disposable income than the average guy.

A wise old man once told me that you should try not to die wishing you should have done something.

If you want it, buy it, and enjoy it.

Think about ten years from now. Will you say this is one that got away?

Looks as if the cue has a Dufferin bumper- very odd for a TS SP. The only way to know for sure is to play the cue, if you know how a
TS SP should play and how the hit feels. I had one, played very, very well. I own a Frey now, plays the same- you know it once you have played with the real deal.
Bob Frey is the man when it came to SPs IMO and to own one that you know Frey had his hand on is a real treat. Frey went to a signature bumper when he struck out on his own - for some cues, the bumper has a F stamped into the rubber bottom - very distinct, mine does.

The whole putting the year by the logo thing started during the 90’s when the logo went through several changes after Frey had left the shop and Mike Cochran became the man behind the curtain. They were never on the sneaky Pete’s such as the one you picture here.

IMO the sneakies with the white Delrin butt caps with the logo on the butt cap played better than these with the logo stamped into the points. YMMV

Plays like my old Scruggs sp.thanks

I have a Schmelke SP cue. You can get one for a ridiculously attractive price brand new. Mine was used but as pristine as one could hope for. The darn cue has great specs, straight as a tautly pulled string and all I did was change the tip to my brand. This darn cue shoots so sweet I have no reservations about using it instead of one of my other pool cues. This is a ideal type cue for a pool room locker or even as a backup car trunk pool cue.
