Like to know the year Tim made it and what it's worth, please. Rolls straight together and apart. A daily player. TIA.
Had a Frey sp long ago. Guy wants $800 for it. I'm unsure at the moment. Seems cheap for a Scruggs....The eBay cue?
AFAIK, he didn't make most of them, it was his helpers. Can't think of who at the moment, forgive my head injury please.
It's a sneaky, valued player. Shaft is the business. I have a couple TS shafts for my Joss cues, great shafts.
Value? What's it worth to you?
I bought one on eBay once. It was a fake. Returned it. Got my money back.
This one looks legit but...I dunno....
The main makers of Scruggs sneaky petes were Bob Frey, and John Slovotnik later on, when Bob went on his own, and Mike Chochran partnered with Tim. Very good cues, a lot of tournament players used them. But correct, Tim had his hands on very few of them. The eBay cue?

Thanks. I was fuzzy on that. The main makers of Scruggs sneaky petes were Bob Frey, and John Slovotnik later on, when Bob went on his own, and Mike Chochran partnered with Tim. Very good cues, a lot of tournament players used them. But correct, Tim had his hands on very few of them.
Yes thank you. I'm still looking for the year made by the TS logo though. I know Tim used different stylings through the years. The main makers of Scruggs sneaky petes were Bob Frey, and John Slovotnik later on, when Bob went on his own, and Mike Chochran partnered with Tim. There are threads you can search on to follow the TS logo, as they did vary depending on the time period. I would be more concerned by that bumper on the cue you have. Tim did not do big crude screw-on bumpers like that.Yes thank you. I'm still looking for the year made by the TS logo though. I know Tim used different stylings through the years.
Looks like a Dufferin bumper. There are threads you can search on to follow the TS logo, as they did vary depending on the time period. I would be more concerned by that bumper on the cue you have. Tim did not do big crude screw-on bumpers like that.
Yep, could be. Or any number of bumpers that you can pick up on Mueller, or Prather, for example.Looks like a Dufferin bumper.

The whole putting the year by the logo thing started during the 90’s when the logo went through several changes after Frey had left the shop and Mike Cochran became the man behind the curtain. They were never on the sneaky Pete’s such as the one you picture here.Yes thank you. I'm still looking for the year made by the TS logo though. I know Tim used different stylings through the years.
I had a Fry,the both play awesome! ThanksLooks as if the cue has a Dufferin bumper- very odd for a TS SP. The only way to know for sure is to play the cue, if you know how a
TS SP should play and how the hit feels. I had one, played very, very well. I own a Frey now, plays the same- you know it once you have played with the real deal.
Bob Frey is the man when it came to SPs IMO and to own one that you know Frey had his hand on is a real treat. Frey went to a signature bumper when he struck out on his own - for some cues, the bumper has a F stamped into the rubber bottom - very distinct, mine does.
Plays like my old Scruggs sp.thanksThe whole putting the year by the logo thing started during the 90’s when the logo went through several changes after Frey had left the shop and Mike Cochran became the man behind the curtain. They were never on the sneaky Pete’s such as the one you picture here.
IMO the sneakies with the white Delrin butt caps with the logo on the butt cap played better than these with the logo stamped into the points. YMMV
You must be from out of town, Mr.I ordered one directly from Tim about 96'-97' and it had the Dufferin bumper. $267.50 with two shafts.
