If a gun was put to your head to choose one player to pocket a difficult shot for you, who would you choose?

If we are talking 9 ball pool then probably Effren, if talking UK pol then could pick number of candidates but Mick Hill or Chris Melling would be up there and as for snooker eother peak Hendry or Ronnie as under pressure both amazingly consistent potters.

Chinese 8 ball then Gareth potts would be in with a shot at his best.

Also, I have an Earl story. One time I was watching a young Earl (21-22) practice before a match. For some unknown reason, he started shooting out of a corner jaw to a ball in the middle of the table exactly straight into the far corner. He was jacking up way more than he needed to and hitting it as hard as a break shot. I don't know why he was doing that. He probably shot that shot 20 times and probably made 17 or 18. It was scary weird to watch someone shoot that hard and that straight while jacked up out of the corner and be that accurate.

eddie kelly if it was any random difficult shot.

anyone else named would choke under enough pressure.

I guess that they were just really great at cue ball control, and reading the rack, and really great at knowing exactly how the balls would break out. And, they played perfect on that really slow cloth, with a really heavy cue ball.

the top players would all adjust over a short time period. except those that couldn't increase their stroke power.
 
Frank Taberski….Greenleaf couldn’t beat him when Frank was in stroke.

And on long thin cuts along the short rail….I’d take Parica over St Louis Louie …and Jose didn’t need extra help.

Years ago playing push out you were often forced to shoot low percentage shots. It is amazing what you can make when you have to. Richle Ambrose would push out to impossible cuts. You say shoot again and he would make it.

We also played a lot of pill pool and ring games. When it was your turn you better be able to come with a shot be it a bank, combo, tough cut whatever. 5 handed ring 9 ball you may go several games and not shoot.

There was a popular game called " One shot Harrigan", designed for shot makers. Mosconi said if Ponzi got in he could make anything. He would end the game.
