Planning My Gold Crown VII Purchase

I am having a hard time finding info on the new Gold Crown VII. On the Brunswick Billiards website it only shows the Gold Crown VI. Anybody know where I can get more info regarding the Gold Crown VII?

And yes, I know what everyone is thinking. I already have the Gold Crown IV and also have a Diamond Professional on order. Why are you already thinking about a Gold Crown VII? Well, because that might be the long range plan. One of these days, a year or two down the road, I might decide to sell either the GCIV or the Diamond Professional and then buy a new Gold Crown VII. And who knows, by then it might be time for the Gold Crown VIII.

Just have to see how all of this plays out. It's always nice to make long range plans though. And I am having a hard time making those long range plans since I can't find much info on the new Gold Crown VII.

I'm guessing that the VII is imported and they are waiting for the tariff stuff to settle down before they can finally announce the product and list a price. At one point, people were looking at 100% or higher tariffs on goods from some countries. It's awkward to announce a price at which you lose money.

Last I read is they are made by yalin in china which is also making the Predator Arc which resembles the new gc.

I would like to find a place here to play on one. I will be looking for a table as I just moved back North and I do have a billiard room size set up in the new home that I am buying and it will accommodate a nine foot table. I would possibly invest $12,500 if it included full set up and the desired cloth- don't forget sales tax will add around 7% to the price.

I don't want 4.5 pockets as my guests will mostly not be top players and I play 70% 14.1 anyhow- I wish they had 4.75 instead of jumping up to 5 inch on the pocket size - clearly going after the one pocket crowd at sizes 4 and 4.25 in addition to the 4.5 and 5 inch options.

I won't invest without a trial on this table somewhere- I walked into a Brunswick dealer here in CT. last month and they do not even carry the GCVI onsite- ridiculous in my opinion--- so I'll wait and see. If anyone has Nick Baron's contact info please PM me here as I want to be sure on my final decision relating to a table- I am not a Diamond fan- BTW- I was quoted $9500 on a new Diamond nine foot by a NE Diamond dealer

From what I read it said there will be NO DROP POCKETS. Is that correct? Ball return only?

If so that is not good. That's one of the main reasons I went with the Diamond Professional and not the Pro Am. Hopefully by the time I get ready to buy one (2-3 years) they will have the drop pocket option.

AND A BIG FYI HERE!!!

Whenever u12armresl posts on this thread DO NOT believe anything he says. He is a fountain of misinformation. If you want to know something just PM me.

Looks like a beautiful table and I was ready to move on one. No names but some knowledgeable people said it’s junk.

Long range plans. Pool tables are not cars. The right table is the perfect table. The right table is a keeper.

Yikes! I just asked chatgpt what would be the current tariff of a pool table manufactured in China. It told me 104%. No idea if that's true...

That would affect all of Brunswick's line, not just the GC7.

Move on one? You can't even order one yet. Was the no-name's initials GOD? ha ha ha
Move on one meaning when the time is right..availability . Not God but has my respect. I heard it from 2 people that know more than you or me. I’m sure it’s not junk but I’ll keep my Professional or look for a fully restored centerfold GC. My biggest concern would be the installation.

If you do a standard search on new Chinese tariffs, you will see that there are many different ones and the situation is very complicated. There is a current lawsuit that claims all (most?) of the new tariffs are unauthorised.

They must want to prove they can get a ball return to work. That and maybe big hands can't do 4" pockets?

I recommend looking for the right GCIV Tournament Edition. Maybe piano black or something really sharp. Pockets could be 4.75", and it was the best GC of the past, although I haven't played on the new ones. You could spend the extra $8500 on something else. I get I'm not telling you something you don't already know.

OK I am starting to believe that u12armresl and DCP are one and the same...

Anybody with me? :p

I kid, I kid...

You have my complete assurance that isn't the deal. He seems to have some kind of vendetta against me.

I'd be more likely to be Travis Trotter.

Speaking of which, anybody seen or heard from Travis lately?
