Share with us your $30,000 plus cues 😅

Thousands of the them would be surprizing since I am having a problem finding them. But none is certainly not the right number, I am aware of at least half a dozen new cues that have sold in this range. Mostly cues for shows or contests.
I was at the ICCS cue show a couple months ago. I bet there were more than a hundred $30K+ cues in one room. And some $100K+ cues as well.

Yes, I remember that one, but I doubt anybody paid 40 grand for it. Lassiter's fancier cue that he used for years, many people thought it was a Bushka, but was actually a Tad. Not sure whatever became of that one.
A friend of mine owns the cue.
By the way, I’ve got a cue or two that move up the scale. Fatboy has 8-10 up a bit as well.

Hello,
I'm Alton. :)
I used to make Cue Caps. Now, I'm into watching the LA Dodgers and Shohei Ohtani. LOL
Note: This is not my Cue.
It belongs ( or, used to belong to) to a friend that is not into using Computers and visiting Social Media.
But, I did feel that Pool Cue Enthusiast here would like to see Gus Szamboti's Personal 8 Point Cue that he used at home and took to the Pool Rooms.
This is not Gus' Cue that he kept/left at Tony C.'s Home.
Below that, is Barry's "TRUBUTE TO MY DAD" Cue.
Portraits of Gus and Barry were done by Scrimshaw Artist Bob Hergert from Oregon. :)

Oh, Hi Calvin Tan.. :) Guys, Calvin is right up there with some good looking Joint Protectors.
Hey Calvin, you can use that name "Cue Caps", too. LOL I have no problem taking credit for your Beautiful Work. 😇

Hi to all
Thank you for your post! I admire Gus and Berry Szamboti. I would love one day to own one. The level of details is always remarkable. It's something only people deep into appreciation of cues understand for sure.

I am waiting on updates for when my cue will begin work putting the parts together. I bought all the raw materials and it's been delivered including half a pound of alloy and antique parts from two old masters.

Hi to all
Hi Alton,
What a wonderful post!
I have known for many years that you have such a magnificent knowledge of the masters,
such as Gus, Barry, Ernie, Stroud, Schick, Tad, and others. Your personal mastery and genius has
guided you in the development of the best, complementary cue caps ever seen.
Your caps have taken trailblazing cues to the next level.
On top of all, you are a great friend.
Welcome back!

Cue Tease.jpg

I'm getting closer. The design is now finalized for the most part. It is very traditional and faithful to what George Balabushka may have made today. It is based on number 4. This is a Gus Szamboti Blank that George Balabushka assembled and put the handle and famous buzz ring into. It was purchased from Josephine Balabushka as a set of approximately 18 unfinished cues. This is two of the 3 or 4 Hall of Fame cuemakers involved.

The blank was purchased for approximately $17K. It is a rare opportunity to have a custom ordered Balabushka for those that were born after the days he was alive. From what I understand, he would also not make a cue for those he felt were not top level tournament players, so that would have disqualified me anyways, I may have been a nursery school or preschool champion, but I don't remember. George Balabushka cues made with an authenticated Gus Szamboti blank are also far more difficult to get than the Burton Spain blank cues, but luck would have it, someone was willing to sell two authenticated Gus blank partial George Balabushka cues I was interested in. Someone else got my first choice, the family members were not in communication with eachother and so my first choice got sold to someone else by another family member, maybe the person offered more when the lot came up and had the same idea? There are almost no original GB partial cues left from that lot of 18 Josephine sold back in 1975. I had thought about an original design, but the more I consider this the less it made sense, the cue must look like a Balabushka but still be unique and not be confused with an Asian Import even under the worst lighting.
