Mosconi Cup 2025, Dec. 3-6, Alexandra Palace, London

Most of the betting #'s are saying the US doesn't '7' and not much better chance at getting to 6. Anyone thinks the US will get to 8 can't get some pretty stupid odds.
Where do I bet USA gets to 7?
That's a good sweat.

Would also bet USA to win with the right odds.

Doesn't matter how good Team Europe is, Jay, upsets happen all the time in every sport. You know what they say in football. on any given Sunday ...

Just a matter of time before the underdog wins. The U.S. is due. If these two teams played ten times, the U.S. would be bound to win two or three of the events.
Race to 5, alternating breaks....anybody can win if they don't rattle.

I think it may be a little more competitive this year. SVB seems to have hit a gear this year, Billy has been sober for a while now, Skyler cames to his senses and let Fedor do a little coaching. If Fedor can take 10 minutes away from peddling his merch, maybe we will do decent.

And also, Joshua hasn't had a great year like he usually does. If he is in the least bit not motivated or off, maybe the US can do better.

it's all about SVB. if he checks out early team USA is pretty much done

When you’ve been beating the pants off your opponent and expected to win, you hold most of the pressure. Europe
When you’re the dog, and getting your head kicked in, you have nothing to lose. US.

The dog has a chance if Europe takes to the heat from pressure and expectations.
Of course the US. can win races to 5, the 1980 US hockey team did.
The MIRACLE on ice. (MIRACLE)

My dog wins a race to 5 with a house cue.
A blind squirrel can find a nut.

I hear this all the time, from players and fans. Races to five are a crapshoot. Anyone can win.

I suppose one could say that about any one race to five. But it’s simply not true about many races to five in an event like the Mosconi. The better, more talented teams tend to win.

We have seen this time and again in the Mosconi. Europe has had better teams, often much better teams. So the scorelines reflect that.

If these events were a crapshoot, what’s more, the U.S. shouldn’t lose so badly so often. The Mosconi should be more competitive. Why haven’t they?

The last two years explain why. The U.S. has not prepared as well. The U.S. has not broken as well. The U.S. has been too aggressive and not tactical enough.

Time and again, Team Europe has shown better tactical acumen, as evidenced by superior safety choices and safety play. It's made a critical difference in many tight matches.

Being an underdog, it’s simply imperative that the U.S. prepare better and show more tactical acumen. They haven’t done that since Johann was coach.

We lose because of the mental aspects.

You have our best player SVB who is an introvert ... he's just not a team player. So he's trying to carry the team when he's used to only relying on himself.

All the weaker guys have heart, but they are under pressure to win and choke. For that reason alone Oscar should have made it in as 4th or 5th pick.

All they gotta do is get out when they are supposed to. A lot of these sets go hill hill. The break is huge.

You really really hate Fedor making $ by selling products. You cannot mention his name without bringing it up. You're as bad as the TDS people.

I like Oscar as our #5. He is a more intelligent and consistent player.
That being said, if Billy finds a gear or rolls go his way, he is a momentum player and could have a good cup.
His energy is also infectious, which could inspire his teammates.
I really want the last day to matter. It would be nice to see a tough-fought cup this year.

good point. besides the 'wokiness' who the hell is the US gonna bring? There is no woman or kid that can stay with much less beat any that EU is gonna bring. To me the idea of it is just lame woke pandering.
What's absolutely disgusting is that any change to the lineup would make it worse for us. Sadly, this is as good as it gets.
