I agree. America pros spend the majority of their playing on 9 footers. I think the Europeans are just more composed and better at team events.Small tables/big pockets and handicap leagues/tournaments have more to do with the overall lack of talent in American pool, but it doesn't explain why we always get our asses kicked in this event.
Every player on team US spends the majority of their time playing on big tables.
Yeah, I mean this type of sorry ass attitude is why USA is lagging behind the rest of the world. Representing USA in the Mosconi cup should be a bi-product of a pursuit to be the best player you can possibly be, it shouldn't be the goal itself.Maybe the Oscar, Lukas Jeremy Sossei and others figured that you can spend the time and money, but will never be picked once you don't earn the points. The picks are reserved for buddies in the USA ... and there you have the problem my fellow countrymen.
The conditions are the same for both sides.IMO, at this level of competition, you do not waltz in and play on equipment that is as different as these tables -- pockets and cloth (don't know about the balls and any secret sauce being used to polish them), without a few weeks to dial them in.
Our guys have the talent but don't do the prep.

you really are clueless. none of these guys grew up on snooker tables.Does anyone think the pockets are too small?
I was in the arena and the pockets looked super tight.
European players have grown up playing with snooker, so they have an advantage.
Americans are not doing so well on regular single events either.I agree. America pros spend the majority of their playing on 9 footers. I think the Europeans are just more composed and better af team events.
Wow. You don't know much about their career's do ya??Tomorrow is the biggest day of SVB and Gorst's entire lives.
They need to turn up and deliver for Team USA.
Yeah idk about Hatch and Morris but post-break, aside from Fedor & Shane, I'm not sure there's anyone better at potting balls and running out in this country...and that's with 65 yr old eyes and no ability to jumpYup
Plus Hatch and Morris....just let it fly.
no chance in this. no 65yr olds could get there in this deal.Yeah idk about Hatch and Morris but post-break, aside from Fedor & Shane, I'm not sure there's anyone better at potting balls and running out in this country...and that's with 65 yr old eyes and no ability to jump
that’s true, but who’s really out there? Besides Shane and Fedor there are no great American prosAmericans are not doing so well on regular single events either.
I've said it once and I'll say it again - "Attitude and Mentality"
not entirely correct.you really are clueless. none of these guys grew up on snooker tables.
the US is in short supply of world-class big table players. Besides these guys there's only a handful of others. Plus in the MC they'd have to be current WNT players because it is MR's show. You've got Wolford, Lukas, Oscar and maybe a few others and the bad part is there's not many in the pipeline coming up. Europe will be the prohibitive favorite for the next 10-15yrs easy.that’s true, but who’s really out there? Besides Shane and Fedor there are no great American pros
Probably no one right now, but you need to look for the future and invest in kids, the next 10 years are lost, but if you start now you might get somewhere.that’s true, but who’s really out there? Besides Shane and Fedor there are no great American pros

She's 15 and has improved tremendously in the last 2-3 yrs.Probably no one right now, but you need to look for the future and invest in kids, the next 10 years are lost, but if you start now you might get somewhere.
Maybe that won't help either... look at Savannah Easton, she's like the great white hype but I don't think that she'll get much further than where she's at, like Fedor, she's into self branding more than getting better at this game. That's another problematic attitude of today's America
Can you blame them for trying to make money in a game that doesn't pay much? There's only so much they can make playing the game. These aren't amateurs playing for the love of the game, its a job that doesn't pay great. IMO they'd be stupid not to make money at every opportunity.Probably no one right now, but you need to look for the future and invest in kids, the next 10 years are lost, but if you start now you might get somewhere.

This is gonna be fake news. Are we to believe that Matchroom, who desperately wants/needs the USA to be competitive, is actively giving Team Europe an advantage like that?Yes they are.
However, at least what I heard is was that the Europeans where holed up practicing on said equipment for a couple of weeks prior, while our guys where playing at various events here in the States on completely different equipment.
