D-Day

That was some good intentions so don't be to hard on them .

A long time friend of mine joined the Marine Corps and was stationed at Pearl Harbor sadly I've not seen him in many year's but he said it was one of the most memorable posts he could ever imagine ! The stories he had shared while he was there by survivors or even the families of those who lost a family member or a loved one was very moving !

Wayback when my daughter's elementary school used to invite veterans to their annual Veterans Day celebration. We spoke to a couple classes each, sharing our experiences and perspective and then attended a nice school-wide observance/ceremony in honor of the day. I always found it to be a highlight of my year and I continued to do it for many years even after she was long out of elementary school.

One of the veterans that attended for many years was a survivor from the Arizona. A fascinating gentleman to talk to. Sadly, he has since passed, but I think about him every year since…

Thank you to all those who served in the Military !

I would share a bench in church with a gentleman who was one of the Original Flying Tigers long before the US got thrown into the war , we had may interesting conversations also .

When I was still in school they didn't invite any soldiers / veterans into the school for Veterans Day but that's changed now the last I heard .

For me I lived with a veteran so I seen him every day so it wasn't a big deal for me ha ha

Still laying in bed here at 7:15 AM.

Can see the Pacific Ocean from my window.

It is a Sunday morning, the same as it was December 7, 1941.

At about ten minutes to 8:00, I should hear the aircraft as they start their approach through the mountains to do their run over Pearl Harbor and the Arizona Memorial where they do a flyover and then one plane breaks off into a Missing Man formartion.

I hear some planes flying around now and suspect they are circling around somewhere out over the ocean getting warmed up.

The first attack on Pearl Harbor began at 7:55 AM.

They're still paying for that.
