Thoughts ... Russian Kenny is out of prision

Yeah.

He came through here a few years ago.

Let's just say I wasn't impressed...

The little shithead could shoot a spot shot though....
My boy Ryan played him behind the back for couple hours. 800 a shot with 4 or so betting on out side. Beat him out of nearly 10k. Guy goes to get more quarters money and loses even more. Was a beautiful thing to see.

My favorite line in the interview proving Tigers don't change their stripes. "I didn't rat on anybody...but I didn't have anybody to rat on." Classy, real classy.

I've played Kenny a couple times in Tournaments, once in a finals match.
I came up through the one loss side.
I lost 7-3, nine ball.
Nobody runs a Calcutta like Kenny.
He has always been completely respectful with me.
He's a very focused person and trust me, he's very smart.
He's made bad choices.
Hopefully he turns it around.

I am glad Russian Kenney has done his time and now has the chance to enjoy life to the fullest. He was always fun to be around when it came to action, and I’ve always liked the kid.

I have another friend, actually a very good friend, who recently got out of prison in Virginia after serving 15 years. Severe substance abuse issues led him down a bad road, and while he was locked up, both his mother and father passed away. He called me the week he was released and said there was a pool table in his prison and that he was the best player there.

Now that he’s out, he mentioned he found nearby pool room that looked good. I advised him against it and to leave the past behind. For him, the pool room environment was tied to the wrong crowd and bad influences, especially drugs. I told him it might be better to turn the corner on pool altogether.

I haven not heard from him since his release. Sometimes walking away from what you love is the price of staying free. I wish them both the strength to choose life over old habits. They’re both good people in my book.

What's odd is there's so many of us that can go into the pool room 365 days a year and never touch a single drug, cant figure out how they get started. Shame

Looks like he's actually on parole. I've never heard of him, listened to the first part of the interview, couldn't stick it out ---- one of those taking responsibility but not really taking responsibility double talkers ----- helping out a friend, didn't know drugs were bad, confidential agent was after him for months before he gave in ----- when you're still making excuses maybe you didn't get the point of consequences, and I'd bet that wasn't the playbook for the parole board but I don't know the guy and hope for anyone else's sake he deals with he's not going to make similar mistakes moving forward.

He's a talker. I bet he'd run one helluva Calcutta!

Acting like he didn't regularly sling drugs....like he got busted 1st time when he did his buddy a favor selling him quantity of hard drugs. He wasn't selling vitamins.

Gonna be tough getting work as a felon on parole....pool hustling isn't the answer! It's a safe bet he's going to be in trouble again before long.

If any Parole officer watched the entire interview, I'm thinking he or she would agree with you.

Don't really think Kenny is looking for regular work.

Made it through 2-3 min of that video and that was all for me. Doesn't look too promising for the future

I don't think it's the room that is the culprit, more likely the trying to earn a living playing long money matches. There's a reason they call opiates and stimulates performance enhancement drugs.

So again, people making horrible choices that the rest of us don't make. Glad we're in agreement.
