Thoughts ... Russian Kenny is out of prision

No...Super Billiards junkie....didn't miss him last year!

You don't have to pay attention to him either. You must be into the lore just little bit.
I remember the time he bet some guy that he could shoot shoot the cue ball rolling across the concrete floor from one end of the Expo center to the other between the guys legs. Titanic Thompson stuff.
Don't remember if the guy took the bet but that was at least 8 years ago. Kenny is older now. Hopefully smarter.

But you all watch gangster movies and worship those scumbags.

Some low level poolplayer is on a podcast and you all lose your minds 🤣

Do you people actually think there's millions of people watching this? And who cares if they do, the public loves shit like this.

I guess most of you just hang out in church
confess your sins I'm listening

Generally, they won't put you in the pool at your own request. Otherwise, everyone would request it.

I had another bad experience in a Calcutta. I initially went into the pool and was undefeated the first day of a two-day regional tournament. Well they had a second Calcutta at the start of the second day for the players remaining and I went for the highest bid (I know I was not the favorite...I might have been in the middle of the pack for the players remaining). Anyway, I went for several hundred dollars. After the auction, the guy that bid on / won me must have heard he paid too much so he asked me to buy half of myself. I declined and he threw a little mini fit about it. I play pool for the enjoyment and if I win anything (in a tournament or gambling) it's just a byproduct of me playing the game I enjoy. In this instance, the Calcutta distracted from and ruined my enjoyment.
If im buying somebody in a Calcutta, I know exactly what Im getting and I always hope they DON'T buy half.

Ya gotta be tough if you're gonna be dumb

I guess they think if you’re not going to even bid on yourself then you shouldn’t be able to get yourself and who knows how many other players.

This cat is hard to ignore at SBE...

Yeah I seen you bros doing that with cueballs skipping accross the floor
Seen the quarter Olympics, closest to the wall, the spot on the table, on top of the heating vent...very little pool was bet on that year!

I'm the guy there playing everybody I don't know 100 to 1000 a set.

🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ you've clearly never even seen a Calcutta
Texas Express came to town and I was all gung ho gonna play my heart out and the first thing comes up is my first calcutta. WTF? No prize money? So with the enthoozment gone I'm standing around as they call out names, mine comes up; no bids (go figure) TD PAs to me, "Aren't you going to buy yourself?" I passed. Went two and out; end of debut.

And? So you're saying it didn't effect you at all?

What's the issue then?

To be honest, your post makes absolutely no sense whatsoever

WTF is your problem? I’m just explaining how a particular place runs theirs.
Which is not normal.

For instance, I played in tournament that would play out like single elimination all the way to a winner(they got winner $$$ and left) then the 2nd bracket would start with the 2nd place finisher getting a bye into the second round and everybody else starting in the 1st round and again playing like a single elimination tournament with the winner getting 2nd place $$$.

That is as likely to be "how tournaments are run" as your post is to "how Calcuttas are run".

That's my problem with what you posted

I’m not talking about how calcuttas are run. I’m talking about how they run the “ in the pool part “ at a particular tournament.

Exactly. Is "in the pool" not part of the Calcutta? Does that $$$$ not get added to the Calcutta? It's 100% part of the Calcutta
Yes. I agree with every word you wrote. Now your name comes up for bid, they ask you if your doing an opening bid you decline.
They ask if anyone else wants to bid on you. Nobody does so you go in the pool.
Now at this certain establishment they say if you are in the pool you are not allowed to bid on the pool. Their rules not mine.
I’ve played in hundreds of tournaments with Calcuttas but they do theirs like this. Not my rules.
