New Years Resolution

Really too bad you can’t (won’t) create a YouTube account, take a video with your phone of you breaking, say, 10 or 20 times, uploading to YT, and posting a link here.

Less desirable but still helpful would be to take photos of 10 or 20 post-break layouts and post them.

Then we can either confirm or refute your assertion, and maybe even some here can offer help.

Hell, even I can do it. Here’s a 14.1 18-ball run.

He posted a couple pictures here.

The next several racks - nothing.

Back to normal.

Not about to cancel the order.

Can't wait, can't wait!
i know how you feel, breaking racks for 20 years and not getting any good results to run out

my mom tied my shoes for me until i was 30 years old and finally when i got my diamond shoes i finally learned how

I normally don't make any New Years Resolutions but I think I am going to this year. And that is to not break any more racks of 9B on my Gold Crown IV. I am just sick of all of this. I just broke 26 times (2026) and only had one really good chance to run out. I am going to do nothing but practice (shot making, speed control, etc) until my new Diamond Professional arrives in the next several weeks.

I guess I have finally figured out what the definition of the word Insanity is.

You should study this video. It might help you control the 1 ball on the break, instead of trying to make it in the side pocket or something (not sure what your technique or goal is).

Playing the 1ball up table is probably your best chance to secure a runnable rack after the break. All the other balls will be random and unaccounted for.

You also need to be intentional with your break shot, not just hitting it and hoping to get a good spread, you need to control the cueball and control the 1ball at the same time, it will lead to more runouts.

For a second there, I thought you were going to say "Ruby Slippers", but of course you don't tie those. Or do you?....

a) divot at the head-ball spot
b) balls out of round
c) balls not absolutely identical in size
d) slate is not absolutely flat
e) cloth is not absolutely flat on absolutely flat slate
f) divots on balls
g) dirt on balls
h) surface finish on balls is not perfect

all of these things down in the 0.001" size tolerances.
{F, and g} can be considered as b}
Only 3 of the 8 relate to the table, the rest have to do with the balls.

Or you could play the regular ghost where you take BIH after the break. I know its not the same as "real" 9 ball but you also don't get all the breaks and your opponent doesn't run every rack that you don't in "real" 9 ball.

I'd argue you get better in ball running for that, and that breaking needs it's own practice regimen. If you play 2 hours of BIH pool, you need an hour or 2 of break practice.
