Fedor Gorst - looking for action in Louisville, KY tomorrow. If you could - would you?

Back to the original topic I would like to hear from those that participated or watched.

As for the latest sidetracked...plastic changed the pool world in a huge way with the better ball sets. Plastic also killed action as people don't carry cash like they used to.

casinos and the change of interests in the new generation destroyed pool rooms.
This is basically what George Frank and yes even Frank McGowan both told me one day while I stopped in to shoot the breeze with them , as Frank said a patron will spend more money quicker in a poker or keno machine than they will at a pool table .
Both former locations that were Corner Pocket's are now a casino and liquor store or a restaurant .

I've not gone into either of them since the pool tables were removed .

I disagree. People who are looking to play a $20-$100 set carry just that much cash. Gamblers will either have on them, or in their trunk enough money to put up a good set or 2 without having to leave. Most CC's don't allow you to take out enough to fund a good set anyway.

people lose what is in their pockets and quit most times. only real degenerates that cannot quit loser will want credit from you or go to the atm which most only give a few hundred at most. and it gives time to reconsider.

until you get to at least 50 a game, not sets, you aren't really gambling just social betting.

I can get $2k out of an ATM

You don't have to carry cash, you can go to an ATM to get cash if you find a game that way you don't get robbed.

Life is hard

not very many of them. although i dont use them. i have pockets in my pants.

and thats for an atm that is at a place not your specific banks one. which you wont likely find at a pool room or close by. plus most of those charge a fee many dont want to pay.

apps to get larger amounts of instant cash from a machine? im way behind the times.
i know about the send money apps. i dont do them never will.

i had a guy almost got all the travelers checks i got from him cancelled just before i had them cashed. close call.
i dont go on the wire unless i know the guy real well and i have a lock.

thats why i wont be on here, or someplace crying why some losing hustler stuck me for thousands.

ive seen guys loan money back and forth with them for larger amounts. but paying off in 20 dollar increments is silly.

if you gamble carry cash. it aint heavy.

Cheap if I don't know the person $50/100
More if they are well known to me or trusted others.
That's pretty cool. Anyone ever refused to pay after losing?

In my 15 years of playing, I've only had 1 person refuse to pay because they said they simply didn't have the funds. I held onto his playing cue until he was able to pay off. No drama involved. The sad part is, his cue was worth more than the money he owed lol.

Yep. All kinds of stupid things can happen. You just black book them and keep it rollin'.
Post and put $ on the light, some dummy grabs it and runs out the door. Post with a 3rd party and some sore loser comes up with some bs foul or otherwise, now the posted $ is disputed, that becomes a whole thing. Win and get robbed in the parking lot or someplace else.
Gambling has all kinds of drawbacks. Nothing is safe.
If you want to stay on people's good action lists, do the right thing. Pool is a small community.
It is what it is.
