Some Chinese 8 ball events are legitimately good. and Duya 9 ball is awesome. UP is... shite. Tried thinking of a nicer word, but can't think of one.UP is the worst
I rather watch Chinese 8 ball

I wonder how many people will pay $30 to watch thisBusti is playing now in switzerland in a tournament, and from what I’ve seen, he is in good shape. Still my pick to win but definitely not going to pay $30 to watch this.
What if they aren't even playing pool? It could be a round robin chess match for all we know, as there are no details whatsoever. Maybe an exhibition trick shot competition? Dance-off?I'll probably pay it just to see. The fact that I'm paying a PPV on top of a subscription is irksome. But I'm partially curious and willing to toss away the green once to see. At least it's not the crazy price gouging we've seen from AccuStats/DigitalPool in recent years.
My assumption is that this is not a 128 Player open so the PPV is likely a means for the players to get paid. So part of it feels like the Efren, Earl, and Busty GoFundMe. So I'm writing it off in my head as a charity act. Hopefully its entertaining and hopefully the production is good. Otherwise I might grab the pitchforks and torches with everyone else after. What if they aren't even playing pool? I respect it. I've paid many times to watch Earl and Efren play in-person at Steinway, hopefully the charity went straight to their pockets. My assumption is that this is not a 128 Player open so the PPV is likely a means for the players to get paid. Can't believe there's not even 1 scotch doubles match. The wnttv website indicates that the event starts 6 hours from now (9 pm EST), at a ppv $30, even for wnttv subscribers. Here's what I could find about the event:

• Races to 11
• Alternate break
• Players are ranked by wins, rack difference, racks won — and if still tied, a one-rack shootout decides who reaches the final.
So said Matchroom on Facebook.
What a load of crap! I may cancel my subscription.$30, even for wnttv subscribers
$30 for 6 matches is insane. That's like paying Fedor Gorst $100 to play some practice sets....What a load of crap! I may cancel my subscription.

Have to disagree. The Legends event, taking place halfway round the world from Derby City, coincides only with the first two days of the bank pool event. It's not a very big deal. There is no way in hell matchroom accidentally overlapped this with the derby, knowing all the attention they pay to the schedule. If it is deliberate, it's pretty petty.
That being said, I'm sure the food is better.
Hey Stu, I agree about the overlapping w/banks being fairly insignificant compared to the rest of the event, so from a streaming viewership perspective it’s not a huge deal. However, Bustamante played in the DCC last year, and Efren as recently as 23’. Would they have made it this year? Maybe not. Your point about these events being on the other side of the world just reinforces the idea that the players (and fans) wouldn’t be able to do both if they wanted to.Have to disagree. On the other hand, the Premier League Pool event in late February will coincide with the Las Vegas Open 10ball, and that's really a shame. Still, these are the realities of the very busy world pool calendar which has so many elite events that producers cannot possibly avoid a few schedule conflicts.
