Have to disagree. The Legends event, taking place halfway round the world from Derby City, coincides only with the first two days of the bank pool event. It's not a very big deal. ...

The Legends event is just 2 matches each of 3 days, beginning each day at about 10 am in the Philippines. The DCC is in the EST zone, which is 13 hours earlier than Manila. So the final day of the Legends event will start at about 9 pm EST on Thursday and is likely to end around 1:30 am EST on Friday. That is 8 1/2 hours before the Banks event starts at DCC and 11 1/2 hours before the 10-Ball event starts at DCC. So there is no overlap between the Legends event and the DCC in actual playing times.

[But the events' closeness does, of course, prevent in-person attendance at both the Legends last day and the DCC first day or two.]

Yes, well said. Of course, I was making the point that any concurrency here is a "so what" moment, but you've noted that inclusive of the time zone differences, it's even less of an issue that I made it out to be.

I recall how Earl came through New York City in the summer of 1980, having just turned 19. I was just 22 myself. Earl was still somewhat under the radar, which would not be true just months later. I got to see him play, and I had never seen 9ball played at the level he demonstrated, nor had anyone else in New York City. In 1980, straight pool was full steam ahead and the 9ball era was just getting started. It is a lot of fun to reflect on those days.

Anyone else having a complete ass pain of a time trying watch this? I'm subbed to wnt monthly. They say they want an extra $30 ppv. Okay money sent, I'm trying to watch the GOAT play. Stream hasn't been working for 6+ hours. Can't even watch it after the broadcast. That's some filthy work

The live play of Day 1 ended about 14 hours ago; Day 2 play will start in about 5 1/4 hours. Replay of Day 1 is available on wnttv.com (unless they are handling monthly subscribers differently from annual subscribers).

$30 PPV for a 6 match exhibition is wack. Curious business decision too as I can’t imagine a lot of the people who pay for WNT.TV are going to be real happy about that.
