There is definitely a difference between the blue Taom V10 and the green Pagulayan.
The green Pagulayan is a bit softer and applies easier and stay longer. With V10 it's almost impossible to chalk very hard tips like jump and break tips and regular playing tips need to be scuffed often in order to hold the chalk.

Alls I know is,, ,for $800 dollars,, , I better be able to lay that shaft down on the table,,

I think that the main problem of most "experts" is that they think that all CF shafts are just the same, all the same tubes coming from the same source. Well, breaking news... Not all CF shafts are the same, not all perform the same, not all feel the same, not all are of the same quality and CF is still an expansive material so a good high quality, high performance shaft will cost more than wood and it won't be cheap even before the added value due to branding.
In the image bellow, is my $200 Raven break shaft, not the most expansive but not the cheapest either, this is what we consider mid-tier, good value shaft.
I have it for just under 10 months and I've used it maybe once a week, just for breaking so that's not much use really.
See those markings on the shafts (the arrows are pointing at them), they were not there when the shaft was new, that looks to me like cracks in the CF sheets, or something that is about to crack... maybe a scratch? but from what? Didn't hear about such issues in let's say the $580 Predator BK CF shaft.... I don't say that it couldn't happen but if it was an issue we would have already hear about it from the many pros that use it and the millions amateurs that have them as well... How many pros use Raven?

Might as well pay the high $$ to get the top quality stuff that will last longer and be cheaper at the end.
I don't know if that Pagulayan shaft is one of those high end products, it better be for that price!!! I'm not going to be the guinea pig for it, I can wait a few years to learn through others experience (unless Alex wants to send me one for free...).
We don't know yet what the exact tech is used for this shaft, the quality of the CF and other parts of it.
We just like to bash it for it's price and assume that it's just the same as any other $200 shaft. Some people will have to bite on their hat, just like Predator bashers did 30 years ago.
Ive had the an opposite experience using V10. V10 goes on my tip very well and thick and stays for a long time. I own both the green and blue Pag chalk and at times I can see my tip through the chalk right after i apply it. If i scuff my tip frequently then the green works really well and i don't have many complaints but the blue is just too powdery and doesnt apply as thick like V10. Im currently playing with a Caiden fighter so maybe it has something to do with the tip, idk
could someone give me a plausible reason that taom would make THEIR (TAOM'S) V10
and let omega put their brand on it????? (I do see taom on the paper wrap but its marketed as OMEGA)
with pagulayan it was supposedly a "special" formula...not exactly the same
or am i mis interpreting the ad

Taom sells chalk at its website in a wrapper printed with only V10 or Taom and the particular type (Pyro, Soft Chalk, 2.0). OmegaBilliards' website sells, however, chalk in a wrapper printed with Taom, Omega, Acme, V10, Trademark Registered, and Made in Finland.
that still doesnt answer why would taom do that or let omega or acme do it
what am i missing?

Not sure, I think Acme is the closest to taom but I will look more closely and see what I can notice between all of them. They also make a blue for omega. Up until very recently both were called V.10 2.0. The 2.0 has been erased recently so just V.10. As for the $800 shaft, nope, no way. Nothing is going to make it worth more then any of the others in the $400/500 range, only more profit if they manage to sell any. Pre-orders have always been a bad way to judge future orders and/or hype.
