Duya Chinese 9 Ball Finals - Ko Bros

Ass cam was awesome. Round girls too.

I watched some of the pool as well. Ko -lol I guess either of them missed many shots to the corner and made no strategic concessions to avoid those things. Two bros shooting at each other. Older one seemed to break better.

Very long match to critique. (personal education) Watch it later.

i heard $320k for winner and $120k for runner up. either way they're always splitting, there's no skin in that game..

If Matchroom, Predator, WPA, and other pool organizations are unable to increase the money payouts to pool players, especially considering many events are overseas requiring living out of a suitcase for weeks at a time, some will gravitate towards putting their time and money into Chinese pocket billiards.

As is the case in most pool events today with $30,000 first-place prize monies, with only one or two exceptions when the Saudis are involved, one must win, place, or show frequently in order to break even. If one wins one event, they may be so stuck from the other events that they are still in the red as far as profit.

I do not fault Matchroom, Predator, WPA, and the others because they have expenses too and must create an ROI, unlike what happened with the failed IPT (International Pool Tour) model that came out of the gate with huge payouts, $30,000 to each Hall of Famer and a bye just to show up at the first event, King of the Hill in Orlando, FL before they hit their first ball.

A half million bucks for two Ko brothers to split will keep them planted on Chinese soil, and who can blame them?

noone. it's a perfectly rational decision. most other pros would do the same if they lived close and figured they could win. in fact orcullo, mocaibat and a couple more filipinos have chosen china too (not to mention wu jiaqing and zheng xiaohuai, who already live in china).

one difference is that predator and MR pay deep and not this insanely top heavy. but that difference doesn't matter if you're as good as the ko brothers.
