Wrapless pool cues

I went from wrapped to wrapless and I'm not turning back. I prefer the feel of wrapless.

For me, wrap choices have a lot to do with playing conditions with regard to climate control or lack thereof within the playing area.
If a room is too humid in summer or the temperature rises into the mid 70s in a heated environment - my hands sweat too much for either wrapless or leather wrapped cues. Linen wraps work best for me in these more extremes of inside humidity or heat.
In a well air conditioned environment or a heated room between say 66 to low 70s - I do well with a cue with just about any wrap surface or wrapless cues.
I never tried a cork wrap but I think that I would like it for any indoor climate situation.

I went wrapless many, many years ago, and it is close to all I build. I am building a cue for a friend who has only used wrapped cues for decades. We discussed different options because he wanted to see as much wood as possible, but thought he needed the wrap. I ended up loaning him a cue to try wrapless. He was worried about his sweaty hands, but found out that he had no problem with the wrapless and said that when he went back to using his old cues he noticed that the wrap was clammy all the time.

do you see a disadvantage?

Eventually they all stink. It was worse when there was smoking in the venues, but they all eventually smell.

How many people use wrapless cues versus linen or leather? I’m wondering what the advantages are for wrapless.
no advantages, no disadvantages.

all come down to preference my man.

I mean there are advantages for certain people, and there are disadvantages for certain people.

for me I can't go wrapless, simply because my hands sweat, therefore thats a big disadvantage for me when it comes to wrapless, you see my point? other people have different conditions where it can have some disadvantages or advantages for either side/option.

My choice is linen wrap, always....no leather, no wrapless....linen is the best! (for me) I can list 10 advantages for that linen wrap that can be applied only for me and some ppl like me.

I currently have 4 wrapless cues. A McDermott, a Schon, and recently 2 Jacobys and not going back, but looking for more. Also have Schon SP leather, and a Great DZ leather that are really nice.
Also have another Schon leather that is Hornback lizard and while pretty is a little too textured for my tastes.
I see no disadvantage in wrapless, and will never buy another linen wrap again.
