Does anyone know Wayne Yates from Mechanicville, VA

That’s good. It’s a nice looking cue and it was a good price on it.

But that’s not what happened so here we all are. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’m glad someone bailed Jay out on the cue. Hopefully buying it and not just refinishing it.
Jay's been doing this stuff for eons, he knows how to pack/ship a cue. Its obvious the cheap ass case they guy used did some,if not all, the damage. Glad Jay came out ok at the end. This tool sounds like a real piece of work. Beware.

He screwed me on a cue sale. I sold him an original Mike Sigel signature cue for $1,000 in perfect, like new condition. After he got the cue he decided he didn't want it and complained to Paypal that it had scratches on it. He then sent me back my cue with severe damage to the butt. Paypal gave him a refund the day the cue was delivered back to me. When I confronted him about the damage to the cue he went quiet on me. Paypal closed the deal and will do nothing for me!

See attached photos. None of this damage was on the cue when he received it from me.
While angry, you are about 95 percent whole. Like someone else said, you did get the cue back. I am sure you can fix the damage. Let it go and move on. I got rid of all my rental propertie, dealing with the public can be sickening.

It is shocking now people's ability to just lie and cheat. I trust no one anymore. Say what you want, something is different today.

No he did not! When I showed him the pics of the damaged cue in the cheap case he blocked me on FB, where we had been communicating during the purchase. He knows he is responsible for the damage to my cue but chooses to hide rather than accept any responsibility and try to make it right. Wayne Yates is a true POS! I would like to request any and all of you to go on FB and post on his page, telling the world the truth about him.
With all due respect, you are now trying to get even with him with this post. In this day and age there can be a high cost to trying to get even. You and I are about the same age. Even at our ages there are lessons to be learned. I am sure you won't let this happen again.

I think there's still a ton of good cats out there but the surge in internet/non face-to-face dealings has made it real easy for people to perpetrate rampant f%^kery. Its way too easy to gouge someone with just a keyboard/phone.

This is not meant to be political but something changed when Bill Clinton looked into the Camara and lied and proved you can lie and get away with it.

Now people tell provable lies.
They lie, cheat, steal, lie under oath with no consequences. It's like a complete public reeducation on what is right and wrong. Right is what you can get away with, wrong is getting caught.

Getting back to jays case assuming the facts are true. The guy knows he can probably get away with it. It is the new social disease, dishonesty.
Please, BC was far from the first to straight up lie. Relax brother.

It’s weird the hinges were on the side the shaft is at though. Plus there’s 3 hinges and no damage where the middle hinge is at.

The whole thing has been weird.

Maybe it was held in a small lathe at some point. The width of the damage isn't very wide, but it's uniform. It's not jumbled around like the cue was moving around in the case.

The buyer believes he received a damaged cue and sent it back and got a refund.

So what is the solution to this situation?
The buyer pays for the damage that occurred after he took video of the cue.

Can you please post the video so all of us can see the condition of the cue when the buyer received it?
Thanks
Jay said he would send the video to anyone that wanted to view it. You seem to be unaware of many posts in this thread, which is why your posts are nonsensical.

Well the guy isn’t going to. Now what?

You said you saw the video.
You said “in the video” which I take to mean you saw it.
So if Jay sent you the video post it. Jay wanted to but said he didn’t know how.

The whole issue has been done as soon as the guy got his money back.
He isn’t going to do anything.
It’s over with.

You people are beating a dead horse. What part of that don’t you get?

Not so. I just want to out him for his failure to take any responsibility for the damage done to the cue in the way he packed and shipped a beautiful and expensive cue back to me. His failure to even communicate kind of sealed the deal for me and caused me to post about this experience.

People post on the various platforms about what a scumbag the buyer was, so that future sellers will know the guy's history. That is what this thread was about until you derailed it with your lame defense of the buyer.

All of your posts defending the buyer.

It’s not defending the buyer. Jesus. It’s being realistic.

There’s always 2 sides and this guy was done with his side. None of us know everything because it wasn’t us involved.

We don’t know about anything because we weren’t there,
When the cue was packed by the seller.
We didn’t sit along side it being shipped.
We weren’t there when it was opened.
We didn’t see it being packed by the buyer.
We didn’t sit with it on the return shipment.
We weren’t there when it was opened again by the seller.

Anything incorrect with what I said?

🤷🏻‍♂️ like I said the whole thing sucked but there’s nothing anyone can do for any kind of restitution. It’s done.

Blah blah fkn blah. JH's reputation speaks for itself. The buyer dogged it here not Jay. Color me stupid but the tenor of your posts sure sounds like you're defending the buyer.

Meanwhile, I’m the only one that offered to kick in to a fund to do something for Jay if anyone else was interested.

But no replies about that. Hmm

🤷🏻‍♂️

Thank you Steve. I've always considered you a friend and don't hold anything against you for the comments you've made here. Very true that you didn't witness any of the sequence of events surrounding this transaction. I did and commented on them and the buyer who also has posted on AZB remains silent not wanting to tell his side of the story. That should tell you something.

A very good man named Mensabum on here stepped up quickly and offered to buy the damaged cue, so no "fund" to repair me was necessary. I wouldn't have accepted it anyway.

I know Jay. The whole situation sucked. I would have kicked in a little more than I said if it would have went anywhere and I’m pretty sure you’d have said forget about it.

I’m familiar with the poster. It’s a nice looking cue and $1000 seemed low compared to what people post on here.

You in the US or PHI right now?

Still here, but we are preparing to relocate later this year. In the process of buying a new home there, with room for a pool table!

I know you were there recently is why I asked.

If you could get a little land somewhere and put a pole barn up with a couple of tables they’d flock to the place and all you’d have to do is walk to the backyard to watch action.
