Pro Billiard Series - Las Vegas Men's Open 10ball live now

I saw a YouTube video Darren did a few days ago. Sounded like he was having a hard go of it but really wanted to just get out and compete again. To be fair, he played better than a young touring pro. Both struggling in that match.

Darren is/was not just a good pro but an elite pro. Obviously surviving and coming back from a massive heart attack is going to have a huge impact. I'm glad he's playing and getting out there.
Yeah I saw that video too, as I'm subscribed to him on YT for his drills. Agree with everything you said, that's why I mentioned it's hard to fault him for his play, based on what he went through.

Another thing I've never seen anyone speak of is the fact that Billy Thorpe is currently dating Darren's ex-wife. That's some reality tv shit. I've never seen something that wild in pool before, regarding their personal lives. Obviously it's none of our business, but I find it bizarre.

Pool is a cesspool 🤣🤣

I'm watching Patsura vs. Lechner now on Youtube. First round and two great players matching up. I happen to enjoy the commentary of J. Schmidt and Erik H. from Canada. They stick to the match and know their stuff. I like their clear voices and the humble way they talk about themselves. They both recognize how strong the top players are today and how hard it is to win an event like this. No complaints here.

JS is guest commentating cos he has that Straight pool exhibition with Darren. Eric H is the best of the regular commentators. Other regular commentators Tim de ruyter, Mark White, Pepsi are just terrible. Tim commentates like he never miss a ball is partial, hard on others but soft on his favorite players. Mark White is nutcase rambles on and on but nothing substantial comes out of his mouth. Pepsi is the worst, he's the one who coined "silver break". Won't be surprised if Pepsi paid the organizers so he can be commentator.

Guess everyone has their own likeness because I am sure your opinion is genuine and does not have the wnt vs predator bias, which I am sick of.
For the Predator crew, I like Tim D. and Jim Wych on the technical side. I also like Mark White because I just like his voice which reminds me of cricket commentators back in the days when you only listen to radio ... Jim Wych also has that twang.
I don't mind the other commentators from the Netherlands also. Eric kinda sings to me 😆 so he is not on the top of my list.

I wasn't talking about Scott, JJ or Tony. I like all three of them, maybe Scott the best. It was the two foreign voices that were not always that easy to understand and they lacked the deep knowledge of the best coms, guessing a lot and missing some obvious shots and safeties. They weren't so bad, just merely adequate. The garbled audio didn't do them any favors either.

Agreed, he's a shell of his former self. Hard to fault him though, with his previous medical issues and age.

I give him a pass on the missed 3 in the side pocket in the final rack. And Patsura's miss on the 8 ball. That table plays super TOUGH, seems way tougher than the Diamond at PLP.

This miss in the last rack was completely unacceptable at his level though. This is a lay-up, you don't even have to do anything fancy with the cueball. Surprised he won honestly.

The tightest side pockets of all time! This side of Heyball.

To each their own.
Nothing against Predator, but I like the Premier format. (1) I've heard of all the players (2) They all play each other in the first three days (3) You can see all the matches and go back and forth.

Yes, there's no Fedor, SVB or Filler, but Kaci, FSR, Capito and Bergman alone make it worth watching.

Switched over to the PLP being played in Florida. Big difference, starting with the gray cloth, not nearly so pleasing to the eye as the blue cloth used in the Predator event. The commentary was amateurish by comparison as well, and 9-Ball is boring after watching a good Ten Ball match. The players made many errors and misses on a Diamond table that was more forgiving than the Predator box. The audio was garbled and the camera work not nearly as good. Definitely a lower quality production than the one Predator is putting on.

I love what Mathroom has done for pool but they are falling behind Predator in this head to head competition imo.
"and 9-Ball is boring after watching a good Ten Ball match"....It is amazing how many can't admit or see that.

It's the ones who have been shooting APA for 15 years and never ran a rack even in practice 😆 🤣

Joke aside, there are many many APA players who have never ran a rack.

None of these events are perfect, and that includes the mighty Matchroom. Hopefully one of these days they get rid of the stupid shootout. Also, 10 ball should count early if on a called combo. It is the money ball! I don't mind the sets. Predator puts a lot into it. Still can't get used to the multi-events per tour stop. Drags things out and impacts the rhythm, at least for this fan watching, much less the players. Of course Matchroom having 256 player fields does the same thing. But it is cool as a fan having the men and women both in one place.

I see Matchroom finally announced the dates of the FL Open today. About time.
