Hybrid Shafts.

Still find yourself trying to index the CF shafts? I never have quit trying to index the CF shafts that have no sweet spot to turn to.

I used to mark my pivot point with a dot which allowed for indexing as well. I switched to a ring because I found that indexing will compress the tip unevenly if you favor a certain type of spin. for me, I use draw more than anything, so especially with the cf shafts or hybrids I try to vary where I index the shaft to avoid premature tip deformation.

Exactly.
Part of the enjoyment I derive from maple is finding the spine and marking it so I can experiment with spin by turning the shaft in different orientations. Bib Meucci used to mark spines on all his shafts, black dot, red, etc...bcuz they do play differently depending on the direction of the spine on a given spin. like Jaden says, you can overclock the shaft if you're partial to say outside or draw. Trying to find that sweet spot with CF is a snipe hunt.
For me anyway. I'm sure others disagree. Without solid feedback, it removes part of the enjoyment I derive from playing and I have yet to hit with a CF shaft that provides that.

I forget what they called the soft ferrule when they didn't want to call it a ferrule. However, I always figured that the soft ferrule was to kill the resonance and keep the carbon fiber shaft from sounding like the hollow glass shafts.

Using foam in different places to tune the shaft is taking things to another level. Long ago there were images of the spliced wooden shafts that showed some interior horror stories of the hollow portion being off to one side and such. Easy to forget that the original reason for spliced shafts was to use up crappy blanks. CF should be a substantial step above that.

Part of me wants to get my back in a corner and scream "wood is real!" However, just looking at other sports I always expected wood to become outdated. Hard to beat a good wooden shaft and I don't know that CF has but if it hasn't it will. One reason is that it can deliver consistency that wood can't.

My favorite thing about Becue CF shafts is there consistency, they also build shafts for different types of hit and feel, my favorite is the Prime II 12.0, flex and feedback of a wooden shaft and energy transfer of a CF shaft, I don't know what else you could want except a "miss proof" shaft, man do I need one of those......

I wish these companies would make a shaft for us big guys. 13mm. Most of the higher end CF shafts don't offer that and I feel like I'm winding up w a #2 pencil. You get into the 11's and you better be dead on. Any stroke hiccup misses the shot.
I like the 13mm cuz my game isn't what it used to be. 13mm is far more forgiving of stroke errors.
I'm not trying to be the player I was. Now I play for enjoyment.
Disclaimer: Most of the time.😉😁

I've always played for enjoyment but I'm addicted to the game and once I start it's hard to stop. When I was playing out of MBC in Georgia, I would sometimes play 6-7 hours without a bathroom break. One night, Johnny A calls me over and says, Jaden man, you practice more than anyone I've ever seen. I said, "What about Shane" and he said, "ah true".
