Cuetec Fires Strickland

Way to defrost a 10 year old thread
I will not say anything on Strickland other than: he really ruined his great reputation all by himself.
I found Cuetec's announcement to be very respectful, yet clear.
Strickland's answer to that burned him for any other sponsor, and shows that he's not even a man, but a whiney child.

Cuetec R360 play really excellent and are smililary constructed as the Mezz HP2 shafts. Their butts are slightly thinner than others, which can be great for finesse shots. They feel very very solid and transmit the vibrations in a rather nice way.
The only thing they should redesign is their butt-ugly huge ferrule and not use a Tiger Everest anymore.

Mike Gulyassy still sponsors The Pearl. His current cue has grown to 74" and weighs 29 ozs.

Didn't we have threads talking about Strickland's cue somewhere?
But that can't be right. 29 Oz is not an allowed weight for a queue in any (official) tournaments. On top of my head APA and BCA should have rules (specifying no more than 23, 24 or 25, can't remember exactly).

And 1,87 meters long, really? That must ranges in Snooker-extension territory.

Cheers,
M

I think Earl did make Cuetec.
I think Earl is awesome and should be allowed to shoot people in the liver.
I think Earl will land on his feet after the appropriate amount of time spent breaking things.
I think Earl should seek sponsorship from Mike Smith of Rack Runner Cues (Because Awesome)
I think Earl is Awesome.
Earl is awesome.
Earl.

Much love,

Lesh

10yrs?????

They actually archive for 10yrs here? WHY?? is my next question. I can see 5yrs. MAX but not ten. Anything EVER said here worth saving for TEN yrs? Seriously doubt it.

How about 19 years?

I actually found this thread interesting.

I had a Cuetec back in the early 90s - and I believe it was the Earl series . Hated that sticky shaft. That was back in the day when wearing a glove to play pool was a good way to get yourself laughed out of the pool hall. I image back then the Cuetec was a good break cue, but it was my daily player and I got a lot of teasing for using that thing. I will say it was durable.

I have a Earl Strickland Cuetec cue the shaft has a crack in it that runs from the joint to the ferrule and as long as you shoot with a open bridge it still hits a ball rather well !

As you can see , I've met Earl once and thought he was a interesting fella ! He's had some ups and downs who hasn't ?

I always like Earl and his temper. I think I always considered him like the John McEnroe of the pool world - used to love when McEnroe had his moments. He's human and it's good to see that side......sometimes.

Isn't that the truth , he's not afraid to show people that he's human , while many other top players keep it bottled up which is never any good for anyone .
I've got a bit of a temper it's somewhat fast acting it's over and done then I get back on with life ha ha !
For instance the split screen that I use to type messages and I hate typing the word some which at times ends up spelled like this .....
So.e ha ha go figure huh !
