Someone told me that if a CB hits the OB and the OB slow rolls to the pocket without hitting a rail, but crosses the imaginary "rail line" it is not a foul, any truth to this?
Personally, I would call foul, but I could be wrong...

Did the same person also tell you that if the cue ball is very close to or touching the rail you move it a chalk width away??

Okay after further review... it ends in ate so something I ate.....well everything I eat comes out the other end. 🤔

Yes its a foul lol it didn’t hit a rail.. there is no imaginary rail line 😂 35 years of playing and the silly questions still keep coming

What's the imaginary rail line? Never heard of this concept.

Either way it's a foul without touching a rail or dropping in the pocket.
Nice thing about the OP, you don't have to shoot a ball ''into'' the pocket to make it. ;)

there is the 20 minute rule in effect. if the opponent chose to call a foul you have 20 minutes to wait to see if it falls.

I wonder if the OP’s friend was confused by the lag rule (whereby if the CB comes to rest past the nose of the corner pocket it’s a loss of lag)? That’s the only instance I can recall where there is any “imaginary rail line”.
