World Top 200 Players by Fargo Rating (April2026)

This reminds me of being in the Pool Action TV room at the Derby in 2015 or 2016 and Chang was warming up to play Filler a set of 10b. Chang breaks like a cannon and Alex Pagulayan says “If I could break like that I wouldn’t have to play one pocket!”
Good times. Actually, it was in 2019. I was there in the action room that night, too. Chang's backers offered a 30K match in 10ball (race to 50 if memory serves) on day 1 of that Derby City Classic and nine days later, nobody had accepted the offer. Shane and Orcullo were there in the action room that evening and their backers had no interest. Filler and Chang ended up playing a race to 17 in 10ball for 3K, with Filler prevailiing 17-14. Jeremy Jones, who commentated, called it "possibly the best 10ball I've ever witnessed."

Chang had beaten Filler earlier in the week in the Bigfoot 10ball final. I'm sure Josh knew he was getting into one tough game.

Thanks for correcting me on the year.

Orcollo was trying to get Filler to play banks. No dice.

I also remember that the Chang vs Filler match was late starting because Chang’s tip had come off and they needed to wake up Steve Lomax to put a new tip on! (Maybe it was just find him not wake him up but that’s they way I heard it at the time)

Your memory is sharp here. Both had been eliminated in the afternoon in the 9ball, so the match was arranged quite early. They had intended to begin at about midnight until the tip problem delayed the start until nearly 1:30 AM. Chang and Filler played until sunrise.

This would never happen but if a round robin 10 ball winner break race to 100 match could be staged with the top five, I believe Shane would come out on top. His break would have enough time to kick in, in this format to best the others IMO.
Id bet on Filler

So Rating Increase =rating inflation +skills performance improvement
How much is rating inflation? I am guessing ballpark around 20 points give or take a few points. So an 800 player a decade ago with no improvement in skills performance would be about 820 now give or take a few points. Top guys like Yapp, Filler with 50+ increase over last decade are really much better players now even after deducting rating inflation

What I don't understand is how it's possible for Mike Dechaine to be an 801. Has Mike even played 150 games the last two years to even stay on the FR list? He hasn't played well from what I've seen and considering Rating Inflation he should be more like 770.

He has about 1,000 games in the last two years
