Shot from the US Nationals

There's this one shot from the Nationals I keep looking at. Maybe I'm crazy, but curious what thoughts are on this.

He goes 6 rails, comes in way short, and leaves Hugo a hanger which he of course makes. The OB is frozen to the rail, and he comes real close to a kiss by the 4th rail. The position would be good but there are some big cons against making it, and he's not even close. I know it's got natural angle and position going for it.

I keep thinking you could do an easy ticky off the red, it's a two way shot, you're coming in at a pretty flat angle on the white, at that angle the white is fairly big. Maybe end up with a short table. It seems like a more reliable point to me.

How about thin off white and then long, short, short. At least three ways to score. I think the kiss can be avoided.

I also like that...and likely would have chosen the shot displayed, going about 1/2 closer to the corner on rail1, vs what groot did.

I've spent a good bit of time on those tables and they play long + vertical effect on the ball does crazy things.

I believe they always use royal pro cloth.

Yes, that seems like the same kind of thing, very flat angle, multi way shot.

Maybe the Groot shot is the general choice but it seems tough and leaves a gimme.
