WB tips

I've always used LePro but something interesting is occurring with the leather.
I am now using a smaller diameter shaft, much stiffer and still using lepros.
This isn't gonna work.
Just realized it last week.
?????
I have a big swing, usually 2 maybe three times I'll have to retrim/burnish before the next tip goes on.
Now I'm doing it more and squish is more.
Smaller leather area, more Focal point force, I realize now, I have to find a good layered tip.
A tip that will hold it's structure.
Because the cue is Stiffer and the shaft is smaller, the LePros become beat up and the fibre structure breaks down 1/2 way thru their life.
I can't imagine a lepro tip....holding up very long with a 12.5 carbon fiber shaft and a Shaw swing.
Use a single layer tip that has been compressed and soaked.

I like triangles too.they are very nice tips.they are a lot like elkmasters, in that, you have to search, to find the good ones in a box.or you get lucky buying a batch of them.
Stay away from the grayish colored ones. The darker the better.
I soak and compress a few. Still experimenting w times and pressures, but the outcome looks good. I won't be selling anything and I'm not hawking any particular tip.
Disclaimer included.😉

Any structure, like layered 3/4'' plywood, comparing that to a 9 layered tip it holds up under stress.
Non layered tips need maintenance as they flare out with a player that has a swing like Kaci, Shaw etc, these guys can draw their ball 12-16 feet, Bergman also uses Zan layered medium tip.... layered is structurally a must until I can be proven wrong.
Bad miscue on a layered tip, tip can be attended to, bad miscue on single layered tips, in my past it blows out the side and needs replacement.
Efren does not have a big swing like Kaci/Shaw.

Attending was definitely required.

Been awhile, but it was right around 50%
They're using a different type of leather in elkmaster's now. No longer the shoulder section, where it's more uniform and growth is even. Now they're using the stomach section which is imo, junk. Stretches and expands while on the animal. Fibers are wider apart than in the tighter shoulder area.
Cheaper, yes. Better or as good as, NO.
