Just saw this flyer posted by the Duya Legends Tour. It's a golden nine tournament (basically 9 ball on Chinese tables). The headline is the first place prize of ~$1.5M USD, which is about 8x what you'd get for winning the World 9-ball Championship.
A few things that stand out
A few things that stand out
- A sponsor in the shape of a niche liquor company. It's not a particularly mainstream brand, so I'm surprised they were able to create such a big prize fund
No details on payout structure and what other places getedit: updated with a new poster that shows the structure- Top heavy payout of course, but still great by most standards. Runner up gets $220k, 8th place gets $22k, 128th place gets $1.5k
- Super late notice for an international announcement - one week notice for a tournament with multi-million prize fund?
