2-minute survey for pool players — a startup wants your honest opinion

Interesting. Although why they hadn’t heard of scoring beads or coins on the table I don’t understand.
That makes it seem that the people running the startup don't know enough about pool/billiards to write a survey. Add to beads and coins: scorewheels as on Gold Crowns, and the snooker-style scorers with 20 and 20s.

Question 3 of 6

Which of these would make pool more enjoyable?

Select all that apply

Automatic hands-free scoring — no paper, no input
Instant replay of every shot on a TV at the table
Slow-motion replay of your cue strike
Your personal stats tracked across every match
AR training through your phone showing where to aim
Highlight reels of your best shots auto-generated after the match
Family and friends watching your match live from home on an app
Weekly leaderboards showing how you rank at your venue

Tech and Pool is like peanut butter and hot sauce, they don’t belong together. Any doubts, just look at the 💩 show streamers they gave the Derby City Classic to this year vs. Accustats. Why don’t you go bother the corn hole and pickle ball crowd instead?

Don't need aps/tech to keep score. Pool needs to be the simple game of the past. The same # of people will always suck regardless.
It is stuck in the past, this why pool in the USA is behind the rest of the world…
But I’m not sure that any of the options that they offer will make it more enjoyable for the amateur players

I’ve often thought that some technology that allows you to replace balls exactly in the position they were would be useful. Like if you miss a shot or position you could replace the balls exactly where they were and try it again after the match. I mean you can try that from memory, but being off just an inch or two can materially change the shot.

I've seen camera technology that could replace balls within less than a millimeter but it was expensive, including cameras on tracks over the table. I think the OP is planning on using the camera in your phone.

For an intermediate solution, see the system on eddiwins.com

why would you put anything even remotely personal on some site that doesn't even say their name.
you get no benefit at all and possible downsides that you may not even realize.

Whoever is behind this company must be a complete banger, or possibly never even picked up a pool stick. No overhead scoring beads, or coins, or even the end rail score wheels that no one ever uses.

We continue to try and get pool thrusted in the spotlight. The closest we came was the Pro Camel Tour, bonus ball, and the IPT tour. There is nothing wrong with pool. Sure, the U.S. had a monopoly on the game for a while, but the game has merely shifted to another region (Asia). It will shift again.

A lot of 'naysayers' here. As an amateur, I would like 'Slow-motion replay of your cue strike'. This would be awesome. Miss a shot and watch your stroke from different views. You may want to rethink your responses.

I would like to see where my cue tip strikes the cue ball. It would be better than the Rempe ball which i use all the time. I would also like to evaluate my cue stroke. Both of these could be available imediately.

I'd prefer None of these

My laptop gave me the "suspicious website" warning when I tried clicking on the link.
That sometimes doesn't stop me, but it did this time.
