That's what subject is about!I'm just curious, why did you put shaft in quotation marks?
Something wrong with that?

It's the forums, 99% of the stuff in here is just opinions. Plus I've never catched any attitude I kept responding calmly, the only time I catched attitude is when one guy straw man me saying stuff that I did NOT ever said....he went as wild as saying "every top pro if they switch to cf they will be #1" its not only a strawman, but its also something a very stupid man would say which I've never actually said, ever. That what made me go off.You need to seek help brother.
Everything you have said in this thread is pure conjecture and your own opinion, nothing backed up by facts. You are claiming to know what pro players are thinking in their head. If you can provide any kind of statistical data to back up your wild claims, maybe people will take you seriously.
CF absolutely does not make someone a better player. There are opponents I have played against who were using CF shafts and they could not spin the ball or execute some shots that I can with my shitty wooden Z3 shaft.
You make wild claims and then catch an attitude when people question you, as if we should just accept what you are saying as 100% fact. Fk outta here.
Okay buddy, whatever you say, I'm not reading all of that. Just share the name of whatever it is you're smoking so we can all attain your level of enlightenment. It's the forums, 99% of the stuff in here is just opinions. Other than this, I've just kept stating opinions, of course they're my opinion because I am typing them
Anyways, again things in here aren't scientific, nor backed up by science... even Dr-dave as hard as he trys to make what he says a scientific or call them "Experiment" they're also opinions with few trial and errors, which by definition isn't science and do not comply with the scientific experiment methods.
Again, what I'm stating are my opinion and not facts for everyone but based of what I've witnessed the CF shaft will improve anyones game...if you played against someone with cf who can't pot a ball that does not dismiss nor diqualify what I've been stating...the CF will "improve" anyone's game if they give it a shot and be convicted to them. They will 100% improve your timing within a shot there's no question in my mind that they do. And pool, believe it or not, 90% mostly about timing; whenever you miss your timing, you will miss the shot, and if you have solid timing within every shot, then you'll be more consistent.
It’s a matter of practice, understanding the different shaft and getting used to it.I know a few guys that are in their 60's and 70's that tried carbon fiber. They went from running rack after rack with their wood shafts to not being able to hit their ass with both hands with the carbon fiber. The switched back to the good old reliable wood shafts & everything was right again.
I say everyone should ditch the carbon fiber crap & go back to wood.
I'm convinced about this and nobody can change my mind.
Three years ago, an AZer wanted to know if Savannah Easton had gone from using a Revo to a wood shaft---314 or maybe a Predator Vantage?could someone give me the short version on why its 130 posts later and still going
thanks for the replyView attachment 911049
Three years ago, an AZer wanted to know if Savannah Easton had gone from using a Revo to a wood shaft---314 or maybe a Predator Vantage?
Later, she's advertised as using a Lucasi Pro kielwood carbon-fiber InFuzed shaft. Latest sighting in Michigan, however, is that she is using a Lucasi Pro Halo carbon fiber shaft. This took up about a page of posts.
The other seven pages of post are arguments whether wood is better than carbon fiber and that the Ko Brothers use wood shafts.
Can you write the titles of Fedor, Filler and Yapp - also include 3rd finishes as you did with the Kos, lets see if that fits one page thats without including a half page photo in the bottom. Also after their names add in yet the same exact winnings listed as "Combined" just write them again as you did with the KOs. Goodluck with that!View attachment 911049

Ko Pin Yi won the 2015 World Pool Championship using a wooden shaft. Can you write the titles of Fedor, Filler and Yapp - also include 3rd finishes as you did with the Kos, lets see if that fits one page thats without including a half page photo in the bottom. Filler won the 2024 world 8 ball with CF. Also won other majors like the last UK open in what is already considered to be the greatest final performance ever.Ko Pin Yi won the 2015 World Pool Championship using a wooden shaft.
Carlos Biado won the 2025 World Pool Championship using a wooden shaft.
JOSHUA FILLER won the 2018 World Pool Championship using a wooden shaft. He has yet to win one with his CF Revo that he's been using for a few years now.
Kaci was runner up in 2024 with a wooden shaft.
Soufi was runner up in 2023 with a wooden shaft.
Your obsession with CF and claiming it's superior is horseshit.
Filler won the 2024 world 8 ball with CF. Also won other majors like the last UK open in what is already considered to be the greatest final performance ever.
CF is superior in many factors BUT won't make anyone a better player.
Hard to argue with someone that provides facts and stats, unlike smoochie boy.Filler won the 2024 world 8 ball with CF. Also won other majors like the last UK open in what is already considered to be the greatest final performance ever.

Consistency is more than just between shafts, it also consistently of the same shaft. Wood would play differently in different weather and humidity, CF will play the same.Hard to argue with someone that provides facts and stats, unlike smoochie boy.
I agree, CF is definitely superior in terms of durability, consistency (meaning two shafts of the same brand will most likely be identical in how they play, compared to two wood shafts), and longevity. But my argument was mostly refuting his claim of it making players better in terms of performance, I just don't see it.
he's trying too hard to make wood look good, thats why he is cherry picking, meanwhile I wont cheery pick here ill just state facts.Filler won the 2024 world 8 ball with CF. Also won other majors like the last UK open in what is already considered to be the greatest final performance ever.

I doubt that any of these is the result of using CFhe's trying too hard to make wood look good, thats why he is cherry picking, meanwhile I wont cheery pick here ill just state facts.
First of, i didn't say a guy who plays with wood wouldnt win, all I said is that a great champion who uses wood will win, occesionaly, he will NOT dominate....but if he changes to CF then he'll start dominating more, which is something we kept seeing years over years, and i am sure that in 2030 more and more players will switch and the skill level will icnrease even more....
If you noticed the last few yrs alot of players have become more elitest, the skill have risen, all due to CF shafts and the new tech.
Ok here's facts, undisputed, unchallenged, are you ready?
here are men ranking as of today, it takes into consideration all major tournaments plus, to the right ill write if they use wood or cf.
1 Szewczyk, Wojciech (CF)
2 Biado, Carlo (wood)
3 Maciol, Daniel (CF)
4 Gorst, Fedor (CF)
5 Filler, Joshua (CF)
6 Kazakis, Alexander (CF)
7 Yapp, Aloysius (CF)
8 Zielinski, Wiktor (wood)
9 Oi, Naoyuki (CF)
10 Sanchez-Ruiz, Francisco (CF)
11 Ouschan, Albin (CF)
12 He, Mario (wood)
13 Grabe, Dennis (CF)
14 Kural, Szymon (CF)
15 Teutscher, Marco (CF)
16 Kasper, Stefan (CF)
17 Al-Awadhi, Bader (CF)
18 Wu, Kun-Lin (wood)
19 Lechner, Maximilian (CF)
20 Souto Comino, Jonas (CF)
Lets do a small calculation here, 4 out of 20 using wood, while 16 out of 20 using cf, to convert cf usage into percentage -> 16/20 *100 = Thats 80% out of the top players using carbon fiber, you can calculate this with your eyes, its not a coincidence and here there's no trickery or cherry picking. Facts don't lie.
this is flawed logic. it certainly may be part of them being at the top. but none of that shows that is the reason they are at the top. basically a form of syllogism.he's trying too hard to make wood look good, thats why he is cherry picking, meanwhile I wont cheery pick here ill just state facts.

Only a very small handful of players have the status to be payed to use a piece of equipment. How do you account for the hundreds of others men and women to play with CF?this is flawed logic. it certainly may be part of them being at the top. but none of that shows that is the reason they are at the top. basically a form of syllogism.
many or most may be only playing with it because their sponsors require it.
or they get free equipment for it.
and likely all would be there anyway if using wood or whatever.
There is also much bad info on what they do, such as propel the cue ball better or make it go faster off the tip.
Just because a shaft it made out of carbon fiber does not automatically equate to lower squirt. In reality all the cf shaft does "playing wise" is less squirt of the cue ball. and almost all decent players have mastered squirt and almost never miss a shot because of it.
