Another family find:
This is a vintage piece tied to one of the most historic figures in pocket billiards. It's actually a Palmer cue (often manufactured or distributed under the Adam cue line in the late 1970s and 1980s) featuring a signature or stamp for Cisero Murphy—the legendary Hall of Famer who was the first African-American player to win a world title.

  • Design Complexity: Adam/Palmer made several tiers of cues. A plain wood forearm with a basic stamp is worth less than this upscale model featuring intricate four-blade point construction & sharp veneers.
  • The Signature Condition: The Cicero Murphy label or decal under the lacquer is completely legible and undamaged. Since he has an incredibly dedicated niche collector base owing to his historic significance, a crisp signature is a major selling point.
  • Originality: Collectors want the original finish as this cue offers and the original Irish linen wrap is perfect.
If you are looking for a billiard legacy cue, then this cue's for you!.

I am in for $95.67
It sold for $1000.00

Sure it did.
Hmmm, maybe you're right.

eBay used to put a line through the sale price if the best-offer item had been sold AND the purchase price was less than that shown. eBay may have ended that practice and now all best offer sales show price without any line through it. Its now impossible to tell what the best-offer sale items went for.

It's a Palmer?

Hey, if the seller can document that, I am in for $95.67
Palmer had nothing to do with it. Although Adam did make cues for Palmer it was never the other way around. If someone payed a thousand dollars for it they got screwed over very badly. But, a fool and his money...

I know it's not a Palmer. Just joking around. It sold for $200.

So, I realize joking around in the for sale forum is bad form and against the rules. If I stretched the tolerance of the mods I apologize. Posts like this sale by a "new member" are practically spam.

In this case, the joking around was spot on. If it had prevented someone from spending $1000 on the cue? It was worth it.

I saw the "Make offer" part of the listing. I figured since it was priced at a $1,000.00 the seller was not going to know what a reasonable price would be. So I chose just to roll my eyes and move on.
