Congrats to Nick Schulman

Agreed on the commentary. Him and Ali are the best in the booth for poker commentary. I've only seen a couple of his pool commentary vids, but he was great to listen to.

I play in the WSOP most years and have met him and hung out a little. Not saying I'm friends with him, or even that he would remember me, but also a very nice humble guy.
Ensure seems nice, good vibes.

I saw him one night about 8-9 years ago in Vegas playing JRB $30K/rack 1P, I was playing Alex Pags backgammon for $200/point. So I didn’t give much attention to the pool game. I left at 4-5am and they were still playing 1P. Not sure how that ended up, I lost $7400 that night as I recall.

Anyways a bit off topic but a fun night at the pool room!

Always good to see the pool players willing at what ever they do-unless I’m gambling with them 😉😉

Come say hello if you ever see me, I’m around….

Best
Fatboy 😃

He's currently 7th out of 8 in the High Roller. $250k buy-in with $4.7M to 1st

I don't know if the whole thing will be streamed on YouTube, but it's streaming there right now.

Forgive me, that's not the final table and it actually looks like Nick already busted. However, another former pool player (Daniel Negreanu), is currently 3/22 in chips.

Congratulations to Nick Schulman! 2025 Electee into the Poker Hall of Fame. Just amazing. Steve Lipsky did a great post on his protogé’s career starting in pool, getting into back room poker games, and Nick’s rise at poker, leaving potential dreams of professional pool behind.

Definitely belongs here in the Main Forum. Nick has always been part of the pool community. He and John Hennigan can often be seen at the Derby City Classic. I haven’t seen Nick hit a ball since he was a teenager, but Hennigan has gotten in the grease a few times at the Derby.
Amen, agreed, and congrats Nick. 😎👍

Make it 4 years in a row

Forgive me as I do not follow poker at all, but has he won these bracelets in the same game? I've only recently found out that poker games are more than just texas hold em

In 2004, subject to check, Keith McCready and Ryan McCreesh were en route from New England at a Joss NE 9-ball Tour event to DC. They stopped off at the Golden Cue in NYC to garner up some action. Ginky was in the house, and Keith started barking at him. The two of them had known each other for many years, and Ginky was getting a kick out of it. Ginky decided to grab Nick as his partner and play Keith and Ryan one-pocket with a spot. Keith agreed to the spot. Nobody knew who Nick was, well, except Ginky and the house. And Nick could play.

It was over in minutes, but the barkfest was the most fun for Ginky and the rest of the regulars at Golden Cue. Here's a few photos.

Keith trying to convince Nick as he points to the table. Let's go!

Even Nick couldn't help but smile at Keith's persuasive antics to get in action.

Different games. And HORSE is a mixed game tournament. The best players are generally excellent all around players. Like being good at one pocket and 9 ball kind of thing.
